Hi,

It took quite a while for me to figure out why I couldn't login as a member, so I thought I'd share this in case others are having the same problem. ( I couldn't find anything related on the forum )

Problem: Couldn't login. Got this message -
"You have errors in your form below. Please scroll down and correct the following:
You must select your name from the displayed drop down list for the login to be accepted. Start typing your name or e-mail, then select your name from the list. If your name does not appear, then the admin has not entered your contact information into this website yet."

The trouble for me was Safari. Free Toast Host relies on it's own pull down list with a special name, but Safari had several passwords stored for our club's home page.

I was selecting one of the Safari auto fills, but Free Toast Host would give me the above message which was confusing because I was selecting from the pull down menu.

I've eliminated the password autofill's for our website from my Safari preferences which helps me see the correct pull-down from Free Toast Host.

HTH,

You can also use your primary email address to log in as a member as an alternative--it works better with form fillers. In fact, that is also the recommended approach if the drop down is taking a bit to show due to high server usage.

In a nutshell, the system just needs something reliable that it can use to look you up in the info entered in membership management/your member profile.
