For the past 2 weeks I have been unable to change the new meeting date on our home page. It says there's an error under the Basic Settings Tab - the website alias. I have always had our club number there. Should it be something else?

The default alias witch is always active is the club number. You cannot put a number in the alias field.

It sound like you're saying I should remove the number. Should anything be in that box?

I removed the number.

You can put the name of your club if you would rather refer to your website that way.

CostaMesa would work and help with your search engine results.

Okay, I removed the club number and left the box blank . . . and I was able to update the Home Page. I guess we're good.

Thank you!

We had a recent case where a club put a number in the alias field that was actually the club number of a different club. (I do not think it was intentionally confusing.) This resulted in the system getting confused, since then the number could refer to two different clubs in reality.

As a result, I have to specifically prevent aliases that look like club/district numbers (just digits or a "d" followed by just digits) from being entered in the alias field. I made a recent change to prevent any future system confusion.

So, yeah, you will get flagged for an error now if you try to do a save with a club/district number "lookalike" in the alias field. Cannot allow that.

This must have been done recently then as our number has been there for the past 4-5 years. But that does explain it. Thank you for the clarification, Steve!
