We use an email forwarder to send message to clubs in our area - the forwarder means the address never changes, even when the club's email address changes over time.

One of our clubs is using an address from your servers - toastmastersclubs.org - and when we try to forward, we get this bounce back:

Your message has a destination address (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) that is not part of the To or CC fields and can not be delivered.

Please note: We do not support the use of BCC. If you are sending to an email address on this server using BCC please re-address using To or CC and try again.

But we're not BCC'ing it, only forwarding...

the email address has to be in the TO: or the CC: if it is not the it will not be delivered.

In this case, my server is forwarding to the toastmastersclubs.org address - I'm not sending it manually. I don't know technically how the forwarding process works, but I'm assuming it would be in the TO address

No, this is incorrect. "Forwarding" actually has two meanings: see stackoverflow.com/questions/4735293/forwarded-email-detection

This process is not as standardized as you may think, and it actually *does* look like a blind carbon copy in the way the information is indicated in in the raw email.

We *do* support forwarding, but only from Gmail, Microsoft, and Yahoo accounts, as the forwarding headers that allow the code to distinguish between BCC and "Forwarding" are pretty well documented for those.

Therefore, if you wish to forward email to a FTH email address, it must come from Gmail, Microsoft, or Yahoo accounts. What type of account are you trying to forward from?

We detect forwarding from three types of email accounts (and any that work similarly):

We do this by detecting the X-Forwarded-To (Gmail), Resent-To ("Hotmail/Outlook"), and the X-Yahoo-Forwarded (Yahoo) headers in the raw email. This allows us to detect the email as being "Forwarded" vs BCC.

Any email that uses one of these headers to indicate a forwarded email should be handled correctly as a Forwarded email.

Thanks for the clarification, Steve.

The forwarding is being done from cPanel on my server, so looks like I'm out of luck.

Not necessarily... If there is a specific header in the email that distinguishes it from being identified as BCC, I might be persuaded to add it to the forwarding header detection... It would just need to something that others could benefit from, also. (That is my main criteria for functionality adds... more than one club benefits.)

Alternatively, is there any chance that you can just add one of the already detected headers (since it is going through your server)? Like maybe a "Resent-To" header?
