I am no longer able to log in to my club's website (02976) and was wondering if you can look in to this issue and provide me with some advice. orguidance. Here are some facts surrounding this issue.
a. This only happens on my IMac computer (using OS Sierra) -no problems logging in with my PC Windows computer.
b. I can log in with my Mac on other club's websites (7902) of which I am a member but not on my home site (2976) which leads me to believe there is something going on with site 2976 and not my IMac.
c. I have had no issues in the past logging in on either site with my iMac, but there were changes made to the home page of site 2976 by one of our members and I belive these changes triggered my log in problems with the iMac.

I dont know how to figure out whats wrong with our site and would be glad for your help and guidance. Thank you.

Ralston, I am sorry to hear you are having some problems logging in from your iMac computer.

Unfortunately, as we are all volunteers w/ no budget, we really don't have much capability to look at specific combinations of computers and software that could be involved. e.g, my computer is an old Dell laptop that I was able to coax into running Windows 10. I do all FTH updates on this computer and sort of cross my fingers that everything will work on other systems.

It is not realistic to expect us to snap our fingers and know what the problem is, either. Sometimes we can sort of work with you to guide you to figure it out, but not always. Even then, we usually need screen captures and other information to help us understand what you are seeing.

The only things I can think to tell you are the usual suspects... check your cookie settings and clear your browser cache. Beyond that, the only thing you may be able to check is to look for errors in red in your browser's developer console... assuming you know how to access that.

Oh, yeah... one other thought... Try navigating to a different page and logging in from that page... sometimes that helps.

Steve

I dont expect that you and your team would spend any time on issues related to my IMac computer. However it appears that the problem is with our site (2976) because I can access other home pages with my computer. If you dont see any immediate issues with our site then thats fine, I will check other things on my computer. Thanks.

Your name is different in the two clubs - one includes initials and qualifications, the other doesn't. Check that your iMac doesn't default to the name used in your other club. Clear your cache as Steve advised.

What happens when you can't log in - is there an error message?

Pam

I dont think its a cache issue because I cleared it and it did not resolve the issue. Here is what's happening - When I type in my club website (mondaymumbers.toastmastersclubs.org) the website comes up and then when I click on the "member login button" I am presented with the login screen. I then type in my login information and click.... the left pane windows ("Main Menu", "Logins" and "Members Only" disappear completely and I am left with the "Home Page" window only ? ?. Thus there is no way to access the members menu because it is gone. This is really puzzling - I followed similar steps on my Windows computer and there were no issues and I tried it on another site (7902) of which I am a member and there were no issues. I am trying to figure whats going on and will hopefully get to the bottom so if you have any insight I would be immensely appreciative..if not no worries. Thanks.

Please try again and see what happens now. When I closed your admin console it seemed to think something needed saving and lost the home page when I saved it. I had a copy and reloaded it. Hopefully the gremlin has gone.

Note - your public floater message probably should have a link to your facebook page.

Have you tried Steve's suggestion: - open one of your public pages (other than Home Page) and then log in.

It looks like a cookie issue, I can see that you are being logged in. Try "bouncing" your settings:
Change setting to disallow cookies, then close your browser.
Then go back in and allow cookies. See if that helps.

You have some bad HTML in your home page... one example:
<span new="" roman="" times="">

Some browsers are more sensitive about this sort of thing than others.

Try cleaning up your home page HTML or recreate it.

If you were to temporarily remove your home page content, you might find that your identified issue goes away.
Many of these strange issues are content related. We have seen all sorts of strange results with bad and stray HTML tags and markup.

I think you nailed it bc my login issues coincided with changes to our home page. I am not sure who made the changes( it wasnt me) and dont know HTML enough to fool with it. What do you mean by "temporarily remove home page" - delete it and then reinstall ? Thanks for resolving this issue.

If you cannot provide any other details such as any javascript errors that are happening, there is not any thing else I can think of to do.

I dont see any Javascript errors on my screen. The home page is reproduced on my screen but the formatting is not the same. The top window which shows the title - "Monday Mublers Toastmasters Club with the TM logo as well as the left panel with sign in information do not show up. I will try to compare the home pages of both clubs 7902 and 2976 to see if there are obvious differences. The 7902 page works.

1) please try to login with another computer.

2) what browser and version are you using?

3) have you disabled any functions like Java script?

4) did you try another browser like Firefox or chrome.

5) what software anti virus/firewall are you running.

6) disable you antivirus/firewall, reboot your computer and try again
