I am having a very difficult time adding in new members. I show them on the roster but with the name and email crossed out. I click on “quick add” then type name (space) email address (space) phone number.
Last month I did this process and added two new members with no problem. Please help!,

The new member must click on the link the the system sends them to agree to be added to your club website. Then the line will disappear and you can add them to roles.

We tried following your instructions and it do not work. And now one of my member’s is showing up four times on the club roster. I think I will delete what we’ve done and try again. However, what should be the correct way for adding in the new members so they can access the club website and sign up for roles. Please advise. Ruth

You add the member, you see it crossed out
The member receives an email from the system and clicks the agree link.
Now the member is no longer crossed out and you can add them to the agenda.

The new privacy regulations require the member to accept being added to the site.

Ruth: There is *nothing* you can do personally when adding a person in Membership Management that will cause the line to disappear.

That line is there on purpose, I designed the change in functionality to block any attempts to avoid or get around the new opt-in process.

Here is what must happen: From now on, when you add someone to Membership Management, they will be added with a line through their information and you will be unable to use them for anything ... until the person you added opens the email that is automatically sent to them and clicks the link in it to *agree* to be added. When the person added clicks the link, the line will be removed and you will be able to add them to agendas and such. If they lose the email, there is a new function in Membership Management to re-send them the email with the opt-in link in it.

This change in functionality was *required* by new privacy regulations..
