Club #3941. For some reason, I am unable to edit the agenda on my website BMD.Toastmastersclubs.org. The wait signal keeps spinning. I've tried several times over the past 24 hours with identical results. My other 3 club appear to be working fine. Please restore to me the ability to edit my BMD club meeting agenda. Which agenda are you trying to edit?
What are you trying to change? A role description/title/assignee, or are you trying to drag an agenda item to a new slot? Or are you trying to take on a role?

I had no problem editing a role description in your 17 July agenda.

Club Number 3941. Hi Pam, Thanks for trying. However, there was no improvement to my situation. I am the Website Administrator and Educational Vice President for my club. I am trying to finalize the agenda for tomorrow's club meeting by changing the people for a few roles, making sure the times are correct on the agenda, etc. I have also tried in the past and on my other websites to change the header for the role description of "Back-up Speaker" to "Speaker #3" and it wouldn't take. Basically, my BMD Club #3941 problem is that the circle keeps spinning and never stops, when I click on the pencil icon at the top of the agenda. Thus, I can't call up the agenda edit box to make any changes at all. As Website Administrator, I am also trying to change the colors of our Toastmasters Leadership announcement on our home page without success. Perhaps the problem can be attributed to the message I am receiving when I try to log in: "There was an error with your login -- the Session ID attached to your e-mail (WebdxbGBX3yCWxbypDRcSDqQf) was not valid. Please check to make sure the full link was sent when clicked." I tried everything I could think of, but it didn't help. How can I rectify this situation? I need the meeting agenda for tomorrow's meeting. Could you e-mail me a new member login link? Perhaps that might rectify the problem? Thanks, Nina Chace, DTM.

Your description or your issue is confusing. Please try doing one thing at a time, and tell us that issue.

Club #3941 Hi Brian, Thanks a million for your fast reply and new log-in e-mails. I used the member log-in e-mail and got rid of the error message when logging in using my last login e-mail. I would prefer not to change the administrator log in, if at all possible.

Summary of problem: When clicking on the pencil icon of the club meeting agenda, I get a small circle that keeps going around. Click the reload link at the bottom of your club website.

Are you logged in as the adin or using your personal user?

What browser and version are you using?

Club Number 3941. Hi Brian, Thanks a million for your fast response. I clicked on the reload button at the bottom of the website and still have the same problem : Cannot edit any agendas. I am using Windows 10. I am the webmaster for 4 clubs and the other 3 are working OK. I am using my personal computer. Nina Chace, DTM

I just logged into your site as admin using Windows 10 and MS Edge and was able to edit your current agenda.

I recommend you clear your MS Edge browser cache

If it continues you have something on your computer that is causing the issue. We cannot solve those kind of issues.

I am not a computer expert and have no idea how to clear your MS Edge browser cache. Can you provide instructions? I have meetings with 3 clubs this week and am really left hanging. I am able to access your websites without any issue. There was a temporary glitch but that has been resolved.

Club #3941 Hi Steve, Thanks for your speedy reply. I can now access my Toastmasters-org websites. However, the problem with the BMD Club #3941 website I was discussing with Brian all day, has still not been resolved. Do you have any ideas about it?

Nina, please stop repeatedly posting the same problem over and over again... We can certainly read your prior posts in the topic thread.

However, you have not been so forthcoming in answering the specific questions that we have asked you to answer. Just repeatedly posting your issue over and over without giving us the information we need to help you is very annoying and unhelpful and will likely lead to the thread getting locked.

My role is primarily to move the system technology forward and I am working on code changes right now. I will sometimes pitch in on support, but my patience is a bit thin when I am already putting in more time than I probably should be. I have been monitoring this topic thread, but I do not really want to do "double duty".

With that in mind, if you want my assistance, I will need you to get me some information from your computer. It is ok if you do not know how to get the information... just be blunt and tell me that.

So, do you want my assistance? Please do not post the problem over again... you have already posted it several times.

Lets back up a little bit. You said you are using Windows 10... I understand that.

What do you click to access the internet... Is it the little "e" symbol or something else. I need to know which internet browser you are using. I think Brian assumed Microsoft Edge but I never really saw where you mentioned that (maybe I missed it).

Nina - please try logging in as admin and accessing an old agenda (say 6 months ago) to see if you can edit that just as a test (no need to save). If that works, try one of your more recent ones until you find a date at which the problem starts. Let us know if there are any "good" agendas and when the problem starts - give us the agenda date please.

Club #3941, Hi Pam, Thanks a million for taking up my problem! I am using Microsoft Edge as my browser. I logged in as Administrator. My agendas go back to 2-24-2012. I clicked on that one and the edit pencil. I cannot edit that agenda, and thus, presumably any agenda. Nina Chace, DTM

It will help us better understand what you are seeing if we ask you do check some things that may be a bit more challenging to describe in text.

Hi Steve, I can Cut and Paste using Microsoft snip. Tell me what screen you want me to send. I have attached a picture of my edit screen. The circle in the middle keeps going around. Is it large enough to see? Otherwise, I don't know how to do a screen capture. Nina Chace, DTM.

Nina - I tried looking at your home page - I was forced to do a save. Please will you try making the change you were trying to make on your home page and see if that works now. Then try the agenda again. Let us know if anything has changed.

Update - I found a reference to an image that I think was causing a problem with saving the home page. I've recorded it below in case it is needed or not the cause of the problem. The home page now saves successfully.

Nina, regarding your agenda edit issue... if there are any errors in the Javascript code, you will see the circle thing, but the actual details of the errors are hidden away in a place called the "Developer Console". I need your help to see if there are any errors showing up there and what the details are...

If you go through the motions of editing an agenda until you get to the place with the problem, then you should press the F12 key. This loads up a special window that is the MS Edge Developer Console. It will have a black strip that is the menu... make sure the Console tab on the strip is highlighted, then do a screen snip from there and post it here... Pay attention to any text in red... those are usually error details. (I need that.)

Nina, this helps a *lot*... thank you for taking my directions on this. I made a small change to the agenda code that I hope will resolve this issue for you. Please try to edit an agenda now. If you encounter any more problems with the code just freezing up, send me another screen shot.

The compounding problem is that the agendas for this club are what I refer to as "complex". They have multiple # signs in some role titles and the parenthesis in some role titles were breaking the recently added auto-renumbering functionality--remember that the # has special significance for FTH agendas. My change I just made should fix the parenthesis issue, but in general, the extra # signs may cause problems for you if you choose to use the auto-renumbering feature. (You would need to add asterisks to the numbered roles if you want to use the renumbering.) I would probably advise you to shut off the auto-renumbering for these agendas. (uncheck the checkbox at the top of the agenda)

Club #3941, Hi Steve, Yes! Thanks a million! Thanks for being understanding and sticking with my problem. I turned off the "Auto-renumbering" function. What did I turn off? What does that function do? I will be able to remove the parentheses when the Competent Leadership manual goes away in 2 years! I could do it sooner, if auto-renumbering is a good function to have. I can now edit my BMD agendas and add future agendas again! I'm sorry my "#" and "()" caused the problem. What can I say? They worked until recently! I am still unable to edit the colors on my Home Page. I pressed "F12" and copied and attached what came up in case you can fix that problem also. (My president of a couple of years ago liked a purple background). One suggestion. I had a hard time figuring out how to respond to you this way on this website. I suggest highlighting with a different color the sentence or the words "Log In" or "create a new account" to respond to your messages on this website. Nina... I added the renumbering feature recently... Details are here:

Don't worry about the parenthesis... they are not causing a problem now... My fix took care of that. You shut off the renumbering... you should be fine with agendas.

I have not been tracking the home page stuff... Did you do the fix that Pam suggested related to the image on your home page?
