THIS IS AMAZING!!!

Thanks for creating this option for the club agendas. I think a lot of my clubs are going to start using it.

One thing I noticed when i set up to print for Club #1577321: assuming the officers in the sidebar are listed in "descending" order, the Treasurer and Secretary should be reversed from how they're set now.

Great new feature, Steve!
Thank you!!!

One other thing about the "disappearing header" problem. (I tried this with all five of the clubs listed in my signature.) I specifically notice that the initial print dialog that pops up does not have the header on it. If i just hit print at that point, the actual hard copy does not have the header either. If, however, i hit Escape or close the print dialog, the header then shows up on the formatted agenda where it's displayed on a new tab. If i THEN hit print, the header prints on the hard copy as displayed.

If it makes a difference, i'm using a MacBook Air running OS X with a Google Chrome browser.

It's a minor glitch and i've found the workaround for now. Still think this is awesome.

Thanks!

Regarding missing officers mention by Linda's post.
I too had a missing officer (Secretary), but I spotted that I had neglected to assign someone as Secretary when I was updating the Membership Management window.. Once I corrected that mistake, all 7 officers appeared correctly in the TI Layout agenda (even the lady who is both President and VPPR had 2 separate entries in the officer list). Thus, if you haven't assigned all your officers in Membership Management, there will be fewer than 7 officers appearing in the TI Agenda; and it you had remembered to list the Immediate Past President (like I didn't), it won't appear either. (I hope its smart enough to not list multiple people holding the same office if accidentally left in the Membership Management window.)

I've been copy/pasting data from FTH into the TMI Document for several years, and REALLY appreciate this upgrade!

At the International Convention held here (DC) a few years ago, I suggested that TMI make letterhead paper available so that clubs could easily have a colorful Agenda while using only a B&W printer. Also, header could go full bleed (edge to edge) and not be limited by printer margins. I guess this was just too good an Idea for WHQ!

But thanx for this - this is great!

What can I do to get this to fit on one page? The left column is overflowing. Can the heading be reduced or the spaces in the left column between sections be reduced?

This is a great change to the agenda layout..really like it. In my club we use the meeting description section to list the various officers and club mission statement -the same information you show in the sidebar of the new layout. Thus if you reinstate the description it would be superfluous for us. However if other members want it then please make it optional. Thank you for your great work.

FYI, I was able to print using IE which has a shrink to fit option, though the club url is not wrapping and bleeds into the right column.
In Chrome, I don't see that option. I finally got it to fit by using custom margin settings that avoid the edges of the page which don't print on my printer. In Chrome, the club url does wrap to fit in the left column. Thank you.

Note - I still think the heading could be shorter to save on ink.

Any comments about the size of the masthead image should be directed to TI... I simply used what they provided.

They also use the same mast head image in their new Guest Follow-up Email Template.

Keep in mind that you do not have to use the new layout. The FTH "standard" printed agenda layout has been approved by TI a long time ago and in use for quite some time. (And it uses less ink.)

As said before I really like the new version of the printed agenda which does not include the meeting description. Our club's meeting description included a one liner which describes the theme of the meeting- is there a way to show this in the new agenda..it does not require much space. Just wondering.

Don't worry, I will likely do another pass on the new layout or make some other ones. I am just taking a breather to allow all the comments/feedback to come in and then I will consider what makes the most sense.

When I used the new TM layout to print my club's Agenda, the banner at the top of the form DISPLAYED but would not print.

I saw a comment about 'enabling background printing' and was unsure of how to do it.
I found these instructions which seem to vary slightly depending on the web-browser and release level you use:
See: www.benchmarkemail.com/help-FAQ/answer/w...w-do-i-fix-this#ie11

So now it works for me in IE-11 but it seems it is not supported in Chrome.

I can print the new AGENDA, but there is a 'field' on the left column for the Club Location which does not fit in the column and it does not wrap.
Where is that pulled from? Does it pull from a Admin Console set up field. Maybe I can fix it there.

Any thoughts?

It is your website URL... I am inserting <wbr> codes after each period to indicate preferred text break positions.... Looks like <wbr> is not supported in IE11, though: caniuse.com/#feat=wbr-element

You need to tell Chrome to print background images. I use Chrome. It works fine for me.

DUH - Face-palm as my kids would say.

I looked more links on how to set background images in Chrome and NOW IT WORKS and the Club website URL now wraps properly.

I attached print screens of how to click to turn on background images in Chrome in case someone needs it.

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience. It is all helpful. :-) I know some users seem to get confused / frustrated with background images, so maybe I need to see if I do the masthead as a foreground image instead. It is just easier for me to put text over top of background image--that is the reason for it. Also, I was unaware of the IE11 lack of support for wbr--I may need to do a work around for that.

Hi Thanks for creating this new printing option.
I have a couple of issues with mine.
1) The txt on the left is too big or too much space in between officers as it prints on two pages
2) Perhaps if you raised the Date if would help that previous issue.
3) I need to be able to type in a Theme of the Day and a quote below the date so if you raise it; you will be
able to add this and I must be able to fill it in

Thank you!

Thanks for everyone's comments. Here are some things to think about:

1. My preference is to add options that can be used across multiple layouts. For example, the ability to include or exclude the meeting description can be applied to all layouts.

2. I may make exceptions to #1 for the TM Layouts, but my practice is always to try to implement functionality that can be used by *a lot of clubs* vs a few clubs. If you want to have a better chance of persuading me to implement some feature, you need to show how your suggestions can help a lot of clubs vs just yours. The magnitude of the potential benefit (in terms of potential number of clubs impacted) matters to me.

3. The TM Layout was modeled after the Word Doc Agenda Layout that TM provides on their website. As Brian has noted to me, it is just an "example" and should not be considered any more important than the standard FTH Layout. However, I wanted to provide some additional choices for the print layout, as I realize that is very important to many clubs.

4. Not everyone is going to be happy with the results. Some clubs have a print layout that is just very specific to their club. For those of you who are reading this and have the idea that we should just provide an editor for you to produce your own custom layout or allow you to pick an HTML file for that... I already considered that a long time ago. It would not be practical unless I gave you a variable for the entire block of agenda rows, and a big chunk of text for one variable which would present other problems. You *cannot* alter or customize the agenda rows at all... those are generated by the server code from a bunch of data in different tables--the agenda rows have to be treated as one indivisible chunk. I can style them a bit with class names, but most users are not going to be comfortable with class names.

In the sidebar, I like the TM link, but I would really like to have an option to put our club's address in instead of providing the club location link.

I did consider possibly providing an editor for the sidebar contents. However, most of the current sidebar contents are generated content so I would have provide variables to allow placing the content in the editor and also the editor would be very narrow to reflect a long narrow column... I thought there would be more problems than benefits with providing an editor for the sidebar.

I consider anything involving variables and tables to be advanced FTH usage... most users are not working with those and I do not want to make things overly complicated.

I like the new Black-Greyscale header a lot; lots less ink used compared the Blue original. My only comment is since the column headings (Time, Role/Agenda Item ,,,, Member) are light grey, they are hard to see at first. But in the original Blue, they were colored the light blue, so I'll just live with it.) Boy, what a lot changes were made since my last comments a few days ago - and a log more suggestions/comments by others.

PS, I use Firefox browser, and once I set the header Background to print, its opens automatically.
