Club #980049 -- Sterling Toastmasters

We recently held an open house and added six new members as a result. Of the six, one opted in to the privacy policy. Two others declined and the other three did not respond. We are contacting again one-on-one to correct. One new member has still not opted in after more than a week and being directly contacted several times and re-sending the opt-in so maybe he is unable to see the opt-in emails based on a spam control. Could there be a way to have the opt-in sent from an officers' email rather than the FTH server to help it get by some spam controls? Some people are not receptive to being told how to manage their own spam controls.
Our VP Membership made a recommendation: If we could modify the email that is sent to make it more recognizable as coming from people they know it would increase the probability of opting in. I looked for a way to modify the opt-in message and couldn't find it if it is there.

Thanks & Regards,

Without specifics I cannot help you. I need at least first names.

Only the member can opt-in without that you are out of luck. We did not make these rules you will need to speak to the governments who are invoking the privacy laws around the world.

Please do not hijack someone else's support thread with your own post... Brian responded to you and you posted again on an existing thread.

1. You need to make new members aware of what to expect when they join. If you do not do that, you are doing them a disservice. You may want to print out an opt-in email and show that to them when they join so that they know what to look for. You also need to promote the value of being in the website. With all of the new privacy laws, this is the new reality.

2.

Could there be a way to have the opt-in sent from an officers' email rather than the FTH server to help it get by some spam controls?

No, that absolutely cannot be done since the recipient's email server would detect that the email was sent from our server despite it saying it came from a different server. (a big no-no)

3. If you use subject prefixes (like a short club identifier text), those are included in the email subject.
