I was at a Division meeting yesterday and all the folks I talked to seemed gobsmacked that there was a "Select a Variable to Paste" feature available for customizing emails when sending agendas. I just got a request from my Area Director asking for details on how to use it. I was hoping to find details in these forums but haven't been able to locate anything. Does anyone have a link describing this feature and how to use it that I can send to my Division folks?

There are two variations of this currently in the system... I have been intending to merge them into one approach.

For web pages (incl home page and meeting info page), you would select the insert web page variable from the web page tools and just use it to select the variable to paste in where you want it via Ctrl/Cmd-V. (no other way)

For the simple drop down approach (e.g. email agenda tool), you just pick the variable and it is placed on your clip board for you to paste in where you want it via Ctrl/Cmd-V. (no other way)

HOWEVER, there is a catch. ***Not all browsers support clipboard operations equally and there is nothing I can do about that.*** Some will not support the Ctrl/Cmd-V pasting (think of mobile and tablets, especially). Because of this, all of these need a backup way to copy to the clip-board. The web page variables approach has this already ... you can copy the variable from the pop-up using whatever way your browser supports. The email drop-down approach does not yet have a backup approach... I still need to add that.
