Hi,

When I google myself I find my name associated with a lot of Toastmasters sources: district website, our club free toast host, area website and so on. I really would not want to appear on any searches associated with Toastmasters. That is how my ex-boyfriend, who had been stalking me in the past, found me and showed up at my club meeting.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could advise me on how I can remove myself from all the sources associated with TM.

Thank you,
Aysylu

Please always post your club number you are referring to.

With the district, you need to discuss that with them

1) Since this person already knows you are a member of the club and where you meet aren't you closing the barn door after the horse has left?

2) You have control over your member information on FreeToastHost. You select what is seen and not seen by the public.

3) You have made your Bio Public so the world can see it, this is your choice. You can turn that off by logging in as a member and removing the tick from
Check to be included in the public Meet Our Members page
.

4) You do not have to use your name to log into the system you can assign a Username
Username for Logins (optional)
and use that to log in. If you choose a Username your name will not show in the drop down login box.

5) As far as the website content you will have to talk to your club site admin and executive and ask that they not post your name or picture on the club website.

You will need to contact Toastmasters International to get their procedures for toastmasters.org.

The major snag with this is that even if you remove all references to yourself from Toastmasters related websites, the search engines cache (save) indexed content for a period of time until they go back and re-index it.

This is one of the things that makes it really difficult to get yourself "off the internet".

While your club or district can use available webmaster tools to request an immediate re-index of their website, many clubs/districts are unaware of how to do this, and TM WHQ probably would be very slow or noncomittal to do anything of this sort for the toastmasters.org website.
