Thank you for the free website. I'm having difficulty.

This is a new site. I save my admin password and confirmation password and receive a message that it was saved successfully. I then go to another page to start building it and when trying to save my work, receive an error message that the admin password and confirmation password do not match.

I've cleared both password fields. I shut down, cleared my cache and stored passwords. I've tried to start again from scratch several times but still receive an error when saving my work just after getting a message that I saved successfully.

Ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

It would help for us to get a glimpse of what you are doing, but the forum attachments upload feature is broken at the moment, so lets see if we can talk through it.

I would suggest just changing the admin password. You can always change it back. (we do not keep a record of past passwords) Pay attention to the yellow message at the top of the screen after you save. Some users just assume that any yellow message means that the save was successful... not so! Error messages also appear in yellow at the top. Have to pay close attention to see if there are any errors.

Changed Password. Saved. Received a white message "Success! Information updated."

Then went to another page, did some work, tried to save changes and received a yellow message, "Administrator Information Tab - Your Password and Confirmation Password do not match."

Once you changed the password did you log out and log back in, before doing any other work?

Nope, that didn't work.

Each time I enter the password and confirmation password but every time I go back the password is there but the confirmation password box is blank. It's as if the site is not storing my confirmation password.

I've changed your password to the 8character section of your email address (the part between the "@" and the ".net" followed by the club number. I made a change to your home page and changed it back - no problems.

Please try logging in using that password - you can change it to what you want (as long as you use valid characters).
The boxes should both be blank when you log in, they are just there for you to set the password.

Try logging out after changing your password. Can you log in after changing the password? If yes, your password has been "saved", there is no need to go back to the administrator info page..

What are you trying to change when you see the error message?

I am not sure that you are doing but you should only need to create a password once. You should not be using the confirm password every time you log in, the confirm password should never be filled in after you click submit.

to log in as admin go to your club website
Click the Log in as Site Admin
fill in the 2 slots
click Log in

Agreed. But if I am not able to save my work because the system thinks the passwords do not match then I have no choice but to key passwords in again. Let me have a few minutes to try Pam's suggestion and we'll see if she fixed me.

Nope, that didn't work either. Logged on fine. Made two changes to the home page. On the second save received that message that passwords do not match.

Yep, it's me again ...still having heartburn with this issue. Would it help any to know that on the ADMIN Page, the ADMIN email is in a box that is always yellow and the Change Admin Password box is always yellow? I've also learned that I can revise custom pages without issue.

Actually, it could be the indication of inputs that are not saved. That is part of the code that prompts if something that has not been saved is detected. It is analogous to how erroneous inputs are shown with a pink input box.
