I want to simulate what the agenda looks like to a secretary so I've deselected myself (VPE) in Access Settings, yet the access still shows up in my Members Only tab. This is for 1670.

This is the setting for this right but as it didn't work I persisted and looked around. There's nothing in Global Agenda Settings, and there's nothing in Membership Management. Why is the system giving me this right?

The site admin can set up to 3 officers to have the same access to the agenda as the VPE. They will see a new link in the members menu.

You need to log out as site admin as site admin has full access to the agenda, then log in as a member.

The VPE (me) doesn’t have access rights to edit the agenda but I can still edit the agenda as if I was admin even when I’m logged in only as a member. Where are the rights to allow this coming from if not Access Settings?

Are you assigned to a role and does that role have edit rights?

VPE cannot really be disabled in Access Settings as an Agenda Creator. This is a functional requirement that Brian requested I implement.

In the next agenda I am the GE and that role does not have edit rights but I still see all seven icons. I see all of the icons even when I create a blank agenda, which I shouldn't be able to do as a member with no rights. Also, in the Members Only tab, the link to edit Agenda Templates / Settings shows up, but it shouldn't if I don't have access rights to them, right?

I may have found the problem: for some reason, even when I deselect VPE in the access settings page and save the page (Success!), when I go back in, VPE has been magically reselected. I'm using Safari, but it also happens in Chrome so the browser is not at fault.

Well would explain it and I cannot, therefore, carry out my experiment unless I temporarily remove myself as VPE.

That's a clear answer.

Marc: We were running into too many clubs that had removed their VPE's access to agenda creating/editing (and VPE was unaware), so Brian felt I needed to enforce that the VPE always has that access. Put this in the category of more functionality added to prevent clubs from doing silly (or unwise) things. :pinch: :S
