Hello,
Somehow a member with 11 years of history was deleted.  Can we recover his information and re-instate him?

If the member was transferred to Former Member, then you can transfer him back to Member.

If he was deleted (using the delete function) AND this was done within the last 30 days, you should be able to use the Undelete people function in the Membership management module.

If neither of the above paragraphs apply, then unfortunately the information is lost and you'd have to add him as a new member again.

It has been longer than 30 days. He has already been re-added as a new member. He was hoping to regain all the lost data on his activity over the last 11 years. Is there any way to capture that from old server backups or anything?

The information for a deleted member is purged after 30 days, it cannot be recovered.
