Here's the scenario...

We send members via email a link to a member-only page in the website.
They click the link, but are not logged into the website.
The browser redirects them to the home page.
They log into the site. The browser keeps them on the home page.
If they want to get to the page we sent them via link, then they have to go back to the email and click on the link.

This is burdensome. Any chance of getting the site improved where it prompts the user to login and then takes to the page that they were trying to access?
