Thank you for all your updates, It has been really useful and now members, just for writhing hi [name], actually answer to the emails! Incredible!!!!

Really good job with the other functionalities too, the question if I want to clean the last email I was using it's working perfect.

The notice of receipt I don't think it's working, usually the various mailchimp or systems of this kind they put an invisible image in the body of the email that when it's open it gives the confirmation. Anyway I guess it's a lot of work and we can just talk to the members and ask directly.

I usually send an email to each role to give them directions on what to do and I feel the time keeper and the grammarian are missing since I need to write them personally. I also don't know if it's possible but I would love to be able to set automatic emails for when someone subscribe to the role with a description of the role, I'm currently sending every role a video with some recommendation

Let me know if any of this is possible to implement
Have a great day

Read Receipts... I specifically note that this is not guaranteed to work... not every email system supports them.

The invisible image and iframe methods are a bit hacky and some email systems will explicitly target those elements for removal in emails.

For example, the following details these approaches but note the warnings in the article: kb.mozillazine.org/Figuring_out_whether_...nt_read_your_message

Ok, I came back to this, and I spent the last few days coming up with an invisible iframe implementation for read receipts to get around the fact that the "standard" Disposition-Notification-To email header is frequently ignored.

The whole point of using an invisible img or iframe is to enable something to run on the server to generate the read receipt that the email agent does not flag as a script or disable. The iframe approach was supposedly a more sophisticated approach in this category, so I went with that approach. (per kb.mozillazine.org/Figuring_out_whether_...nt_read_your_message , anyway)

FYI, I use gmail webmail as my main email agent. I have other email accounts, but generally I use gmail as my starting point since it tends to be rather picky about some things. (Although, MS outlook.com is sometimes pickier.)

Bottom line: Despite lots of tweaking and testing, this approach does not work. I think maybe it used to work in the past with various email agents, but email agents have gotten more sophisticated about disabling HTML elements in the email. My research confirms this: BTW, I also did try the invisible img approach... does not work either. I know that gmail proxies images these days as a security measure, so I really did not expect it to work.

At this point, I will keep my server code that generates the read receipt in case someone can come up with an approach to make this work. However, I am not going to put any more time in this, and I am seriously considering ditching this option in the agenda emails--I really do not want to "over-promise and under-deliver" features.

I will keep this thread open for a bit, but I will likely close it after a while. If someone thinks they have a good technical approach for this, then they can start another thread or PM me.
