When we have a guest speaker, there is no way for us to include their name on the agenda, and then print it from the website.

I have used my own name in the past and then created an agenda manually not using the website. I saw a forum post where it was suggested that we create a 'Guest' profile. That isn't the best solution because it doesn't allow you to input the name of the guest speaker on the agenda. You would still have to create an agenda manually, which defeats part of the purpose of using the website to make agendas.

I have used other scheduling tools in the past that had features that allowed you to schedule a guest as a speaker. It would be nice if the website agenda could include this functionality as well.

I agree. A focus to retain and educate members has been to have guest speakers.

It is quite easy to edit the agenda item title, e.g. you could change from Speaker #1 to Speaker #1, Joe Blow, or Speaker #1, Area 99 Director Joe Blow. That shows in bold on the printed agenda. You can enter a detailed introduction in the Role Description e.g. Former Member Joe Blow joins us this evening to tell us about ......

I don't think any guest speaker would be offended by seeing the word "Guest" or "Guest Speaker" in the Member column of the agenda.

I have used Pam's suggestion before and it has worked very well. However if this is not workable for you and you want to get around it you can temporarily have your admin make the guest a member and sign in on behalf of him or her. your admin can also give you the appropriate access so that you can do it yourself. The guests name will then appear on the printed agenda. After you print the agenda you can remove the guests name from the member roster.

Those may be great ideas, but they all require making adjustments to the agenda template. My suggestion is to update the agenda functionality so that isn't necessary.

If you include the ability to list a guest as a speaker, then all you will need to do is add their name to the speaker role as you would a member. No other adjustments to the agenda would be required.
