tund3r Topic Author Offline Junior Member Posts: 24 Thank you received: 11	Hi, I was wondering if there is any reason for not having the field "Member Since" with the default date of the creation of the member account. I use always "quick add" and it would be amazingly useful to have this field filled automatically. I know it might not be the exact date but it's a very good indication and if someone wants the exact date can update the field.

SteveTheTechie Offline Administrator Posts: 11526 Thank you received: 3795	I am on the fence about that. If it is pre-filled, then it may be overlooked and assumed that what is filled in is correct. Also "Member Since" could be for just the club or it could be for Toastmasters in general. (for a member of multiple clubs) Therefore, I choose to leave it blank and leave it up to clubs how to determine what to put there.

Is it possible to have another field with the date updated automatically? also to determine how many are using that field you might try to do a query on the database and see how many clubs are using it ... for our club is basically useless and knowing when I had put a member in it would be very useful

Every record in every db table has a DATECREATED field that is filled automatically with a time stamp by the db. Typically, that is just used for troubleshooting and administrative purposes.
