I would like to see an option in the e-mail agenda feature to send the agenda to users on the guest list.

Thanks

There is no reason to do that, you can forward your copy to the guest.

We usually want to invite all of our guests to the meeting. It simplifies things by just having it as another option in the menu rather than having to forward it. It's actually the same request as support.toastmastersclubs.org/7-improvem...-signed-up-for-roles , except for guests.

No this is totally incorrect. What you are referencing as your justification is an option for *members*. Guests are not members, and they are handled a good bit differently from the standpoint of email.... so you are making an apples to oranges comparison. :pinch:

Implementing a lot of extra email functionality for non-members is actually fraught with a lot of extra risk for the system from the standpoint of being potentially labeled as a spammer. This is because it is the system email address that is in the from address and gets tagged as a a spammer if the guest does not bother using the Unsubscribe links we put in the emails. This is actually more likely with agendas, as they are full of HTML and are quite busy... the guest would have to know to look all the way at the bottom to find the link.

Lastly, while your club may use a hypothetical feature like this responsibly, we have had to learn the hard way that not every club is necessarily responsible in this regard.

Hi, user !!!

Here's a thought... I'm guessing that over time, your guests list will start getting fairly large, have some entries that are very old, have email addresses that bounce, and you'll even get an occasional request to stop sending them emails.

Rather than having to doctor your guests list so that it no longer reflects what actually happened, it might be easier to create a group in the contacts list of your email program that reflects the list of actual people you currently want to get the emails. As Brian mentioned, you can forward the agenda to them easily. Furthermore, you can edit the actual email text that precedes the agenda so that it's appropriate to welcoming your guests to come back. That actually seems a lot more effective than just sending the agenda to the guests list.

Now, I'm just brainstorming here... my own club doesn't do this (yet) but the longer I think about it, the more it sounds like a Good Thing to do. Let me know how it sounds to you.
