Macatawa 3766. 3766.toastmastersclubs.org/

I was working on updating a page and a few minutes into my work it said, "Error, you have been logged out of the website." Of course, no changes were saved, despite my choosing "Save" on every menu. Very irritating.

Is there a way to change my website settings so that I don't get locked out of the website after an absurdly short amount of time? I don't see the security benefit of locking people out in the middle of their work.

Thank you, Lois Tverberg

We have no timeout. The issue is your browser is not accepting the system cookies. Please check your settings to the documentation on this site.

Thanks for your quick reply. I use Firefox. It accepts cookies (in my preferences list) and has logged several cookies from 3766.toastmastersclubs.org today. Am I missing something?

If you were logged in as the admin only, and someone else from your club then logged in as the admin (e.g., you are sharing the admin password), you would be logged out. The system only recognizes one person logged in as the admin at one time.

I can see that a version of this is what happened. I myself opened a second browser window because I needed to refer to the text on one web page of the website as I was editing the new one. As soon as I did this, the website logged me off of the page where I was making the revisions and wouldn't let me save changes. This seems like a booby trap that needs to be fixed. I don't have this happen on any other website that I edit.

It is a long standing design limitation that is the result of the fact that the system really only supports a single admin. It pre-dates my involvement, but I also have been thinking I should do something about it because of use cases like yours. (two tabs open on single website)
