Hello!

First of all, I'd like to say Great Work on the new website template!

I do have a request in regards to the Floater Messages.

When you access the site for the first time on a mobile device, the Toastmasters International banner and the menu button are covered by the floater message. I think this can have a negative impact on first impressions for new visitors.

With that said, I think the floater messages are a great tool to have included in the website - but I'd like to see one of the following options incorporated into the website:

  • Ability to disable Floater Messages on mobile devices
  • Floater Message to appear at bottom of screen on mobile devices
  • Floater Message to appear only after scrolling down on the page

Thanks - and I appreciate the work you do!

It is a good point. We also have to consider that new members will get a privacy notice at the top on their first login.
Lots of stuff going on at the top...

I am wondering if maybe instead of overlaying the "floater" if maybe we should just show it above the TM logo banner at the top? It may not "float" then (but it could)...

Steve,

I think it would be best for it to continue to float, so it could get important messages through.

One alternative route you could take is maybe adding a small header menu that has some quick call-to-action buttons like a Contact Us button. The floater message when then show up on top of that, and the banner and menu button would be visible at first sight.

Not sure what that would do to the overall appearance, because when the floater message is two lines - it already covers the whole banner. Might be a little too much.
