I know I asked about this a long long time ago.. and know the answer from then.. but things have been somewhat modernized since then.. so asking again.

Is there a way to make pdf's viewable in the browser instead of them having to be downloaded to one's device or computer? Not everyone needs or wants the file on their device or computer - but merely want to "read" the document.

FTH is the only system I've run across that makes you download the pdf instead of opening it in the browser so one can just read it or print it. or download if the want to but don't have to.

If you are accessing PDFs via a link, you can use the link address provided via the download box and just change the action=download to action=inline. That attempts to make it open in the browser.

Not all browsers are the same in terms of supporting this, however. It depends a lot on what file viewers are provided with the browser.

Been searching for this solution since mid-2018. So it's just a matter of changing that ACTION to INLINE --and as you said, browser dependent, too. Thank you Steve for posting the answer!
