Hi, I am wondering if there is a way to modify the "Pending Addition to Club Website" e-mail (example follwing below) that is sent when trying to add new members to our club website distribution list including the ability to add them to meeting agenda roles? I have searched the club website high and low and don't see any ability to do this. This "Pending Addition to Club Website" e-mail (example following below) is so onerous to the first-time reader that I don't believe I have ever had an acceptance from a new member after their first read of this e-mail. Recently, I just had an acceptance with an immediate "Please delete me from this website!" e-mail! Now I have to enter their e-mail address and phone number onto our club website all over again with nothing to refer to to remind me what they are. Then I must follow this data entry with a second e-mail with a special plea to please accept the invitation that just arrived previously in a separate e-mail! There has to be a better way! No one wants to give out their personal information to anyone else and to have to set up another password without good reason and assurance of safe use of this information. I always have had to follow up with new members to tell them that I cannot add them to our meeting agendas without their accepting this e-mail. I would like to add a sentence or two to this first "Pending Addition to Club Website" e-mail that goes out automatically from our club website to try to avoid this constant hassle getting new members into our club website system. Thanks for any help you can give or allow me to make this "Pending Addition to Club Website" more welcoming and assuring to new members. Between this onerous "Pending Addition to Club Website"e-mail and all the hand-holding that needs to be done to get new members to start using the new Pathways educational system, we are having a very difficult time getting new Toastmaster club members and getting them started on Pathways and coming to meetings (receipt of club e-mails). Thanks for listening to my complaints. Nina Chace

So I had to put off doing any sort of reply to this as I was pretty irritated when I first read this post. "onerous" huh?

You may not like the way this process works but unless you have something to offer other than just a rant, you are likely to get ignored or much worse. :thumbsdn: For someone who is apparently a Distinguished Toastmaster, your written communication does not seem very distinguished--is this the example you want to set for people reading your posts? :pinch:

The member opt-in process works in a way that we believe will enable FTH websites to comply with the prevailing data privacy / GPDR regulations. If you have some *specific suggestions* that you believe will make the process work better without undermining the reasons for having the process in the first place, then we are certainly open to discussion.
