We never used to have to wait until a person "ACCEPTED" before adding them to our free toast host site. Why now. We are having to do extra work when the member's email goes to junk or doesn't see it or whatever.
Please advise.

The new privacy laws have made it a requirement and we were instructed how to proceed by Toastmasters International legal department.

Opt-in is not optional, it must be done.

We cannot control peoples email filters, if they have them set high that is their prerogative. You can request they add the 2 email addresses to their contact list and most email filters will then let the emails through. This email address is being protected from spambots. cherih923:

Please understand this is the new reality. We did not add this functionality because we wanted to make using the system more cumbersome... We really *had* to go to an opt-in basis for the new privacy requirements. Also, I originally considered requiring new members to enter their own contact information prior to being allowed to use the website. (consider what a pain that would have been) The way this works now is a *compromise* of the old way blended with the opt-in requirement. We really did try to think through this.

If you have any suggestions to make the opt-in process better, short of disabling characteristics of the opt-in process, we are all ears.
