I would love to be able to expand the "New Messages!" pop-up window that opens whenever I log in as Admin. This would make it possible to view the entire Admin update, making it easier to read.

Presently, the inset window allows resizing, but not the outer shell, which negates the value of resizing the inset. I hope that is a simple and acceptable tweak.

The issue is not so much getting the dialog to be resizable, but rather adding some javascript to make the text box containing the messages also resize (synchonized) when you resize the dialog.

e.g. I am presuming that you would everything in the dialog to resize together in the same ratios.

Don't get me wrong... I think it is worth implementing your suggestion. I just need to sort out how to make every part of the dialog resize together.

I agree it would be ideal if everything resized in lock-step, but I don't think it is essential. I frequently find myself "double-resizing" in FTH i.e. expanding a shell window to make space to enlarge an inset text box. It's not a big deal.

I can appreciate that you are volunteers supporting a free tool used by a relatively small audience and I think you're doing a great job. Even as I say it's no big deal, if you do it my way, someone else will probably complain about it. So do what you think best.

I just wish I could get Microsoft to grant me the same requests. They are constantly locking down my view screens for reasons I cannot fathom.

Thanks for your help.

So I looked into this. I am using a "stock utility pop-up" that I put together a long time ago for my convenience and ease of use throughout FTH. Unfortunately, while it is convenient, it is not that flexible.

There have been some requests for other enhancements to this message box... making the URLs in messages clickable to function as links, for example.

Therefore, it is probably time for a refresh on this part of the user interface. ;)
