Hello,

Generally, we're liking the agenda feature. However, now that we're printing the agenda again for in-person meetings, we've run into 3 issues:

1. The most important info re: prepared speeches -- ie, speech title and objectives -- is buried or missing.
2. Speech info is hard to read because the font is too small.
3. Speech objectives are missing. We encourage members to vote for best speaker based on how well the member met their speech objectives, but this is hard to do if the speech objectives aren't provided in the agenda.

Thus, we propose the following changes to the Speaker form:

1. Re-order the speech info fields as follows:
  • Project title (ie, speech title)
  • Speech objectives (new field request)
  • Path
  • Project/Time
  • Speech introduction
2. Increase the font size of these field inputs to match the role headings so they are easier to read.

Here's an example of 1 of our workarounds using the Role Description field, but the empty Project Title field looks amateurish:

We're testing another workaround that will use a custom role where the Toastmaster of the Day manually copy-pastes speech title & objectives into the role description field, which the speaker emails to them. However, we'd prefer that the speakers input their info directly into the agenda, hence our proposed change requests.

Thanks for your consideration,
Sandy Pon

Objectives are available as part of the evaluation form attached to every Pathways speech, we do not duplicate what TI provides as they change it often.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your reply. For speech objectives, I meant a new formattable text field, similar to Role Description field that allows bullet lists, where speaker could copy-paste Pathways project objectives and/or other speech objectives they care about. Why:
  1. Pathways evaluation forms aren't visible in print agenda.
  2. Pathways objectives are broad, so our members often augment them with more specific objectives, so they can get more useful feedback.
  3. Several members practice work-related speeches that don't match to any Pathways objectives.
  4. Custom speech and "Educational Better _____ Series" options don't have evaluation forms built into agenda.
When ALL attendees can quickly glance at the agenda for the speaker's objectives, they can give better, more specific feedback, which will be more useful to the speaker wanting to improve specific skills.

Thanks,
Sandy
