I did a search and saw this was discussed once, but I don't believe the FTH developers weighed in.

Speaker introductions on FTH agendas (once filled in by the speaker) are only visible to certain people. I believe that one of them is the Toastmaster of the Day. Can we at least give visibility to anyone signed up as an evaluator, too? In many clubs (that I'm in or have visited, anyway), the evaluator does the introduction of the speaker.

I know we can see the introductions by pretending to print the agenda and clicking the "Print All Speaker Introductions" button and I will educate my club on that, but my request still stands. :)

Thanks for your consideration!

Hi Dave.   I am "the developers".  ;-)

Thanks for mentioning your specific use case as part of your request.   It always helps to understand how different clubs use the system and what gaps they encounter regarding features vs how they would like to use it.

There have been a number of requests for evaluator roles to have additional features in the agenda... I would put this request in that category.

There are some fundamental challenges right now with addressing any evaluator specific enhancement requests:
    1) The system does not distinguish between evaluators and any other general role.  The only "special role" that the agenda supports at this time are speakers... which are called out when you check that an agenda item is a speech.
    2) Even if I added the functionality to call out certain roles as evaluators to allow the enabling of special features, I would also have to add the ability for evaluators to be paired with their respective speakers. You might think that the role numbers functionality does that, but it really does not... there is nothing in the system that makes the connection that Evaluator #1 is paired with Speaker #1.  You would need that to enable an evaluator to see the correct Speakers Intro, for example.

I realize that this may seem like I am giving you excuses... This does sound like it would be worth pursuing some version of what you are asking--I think a lot of clubs would benefit from the enhancement.  I am just pointing out that this is a case where implementing your request is actually more involved than you may think. That is why it has not been done yet.   I have a number of other higher priority, easier to implement enhancements on my backlog.   I maintain the system in my limited spare time.

Thanks, Steve! I appreciate your generous/thorough explanation!

If you do get around to considering this, I offer these two things which might make it easier to implement:

1. EITHER: Don't worry about tying a specific evaluator to a specific speaker, but rather allow ALL evaluators the ability to see ALL introductions.
2. OR: Perhaps allow everyone to see all the introductions (but leave the printing options as-is, where introductions can be printed separately if anyone wants to print them).

I have let one of my clubs (whose questions inspired my post) know about the printing-work-around (which would allow anyone who tries to print the agenda to hit the "Print All Speakers Introductions" button to see the intros if they want them) and they were happy there was at least a way to see those.

Thanks again for your response. Have a great rest-of-your-week and weekend!
