Seems crazy to me but I recently moved cities and was in the process of joining a new club and I offered to set them up with a website - something they didn't have. I was told this was a good idea - so I applied and someone on the club committee authorised it and I got the website up and running.
This morning I got a visit from one of the committee with a letter saying they did not want a website and also declining my application for membership.

So how do I go about removing the website I set up?

cheers

Nyree

Websites can certainly be removed, but we'd need to know the club number in order to do this.

An actual member of the club needs to apply for the website to be removed. In the circumstances, I'd personally be inclined to say that it should be a member of the executive committee who makes the request. However, it's ultimately up to the FTH admin (Brian) to make this decision.

Hi Jane - its club 1666 in Whangarei - they do not feel that I would be a good fit for their club as I am a 'dominant' personality. As I am not a member, but was the admin for the new website - I have removed all info, graphics and text and just need the site to go.

Cheers

Hmmm... and you are a DTM, also. ("Dominant Toastmaster"? hehe)

Just curious... How long has this club been around?

A key point is that Brian is the only person who can remove a site. We lowly ambassadors don't have that level of access to the servers.

So it might be best to see what Brian has to say about it. It's apparently not unheard of for clubs to have a non-member as website admin - you can get clubs who have only non-geeks as members and one of them happens to have a tame IT friend who's willing to help. But I don't know what the rules are regarding deletion requests from a non-member.
