Happy Friday Support:

Thanks you all you do to help both District and Club website admins.

I'm once again tasked with asking what can be done to change the way the calendar dates appears to members in part of Division F (specifically Evansville).

They have claimed that the calendar shows a different date than what I post. They fear that major events, contests, and training will be poorly attended because of this.

If there is any reason why this continues to appear differently than elsewhere in District 11, please please please assist me in quieting their concerns.

I'm also happy to rely on your expertise to make additional suggestions to them.

Thank you very much!

That could happen if their computer is not set to the same time zone as your website.

Brian:

Thankfully, members in Evansville are beginning to take this on board. I probaby should be exact here with an example that includes a wrong day showing as well.

Day/Date: Friday, January 11, 2013 appears in Evansville as: Thursday, January 10, 2013

As I'm seeing now, this is more than a "time" problem. A whole day shows wrong to them.

What would you suggest I offer them in the way of a suggested fix going forward?

Or is there a way our (any) District website can how the correct time/day to suit multiple time zones for the whole of Indiana and Northwestern Kentucky?

You set the timezone for where the district is, we cannot support multiple time zones.

You do not have any events scheduled on Jan 11.

The next events I see are Jan14 as an all day event and
January 17 as an all day event.

If you schedule these events at the correct times what happens?

Brian:

If I set the event at the right time with the same date, they still see the right time on the wrong date. I suspect Evansville is just gonna have to suck it up. I did suggest that they double their efforts to publicize their events, trainings, contest etc. in Evansville. There is nothing that says members refer to our district calendar for events in any division, especially those far away from the hub of the district.

There's nothing else that can be done.

I will inform those that have asked of your findings.

Thanks Brian!

Jennifer
