Our site 6399.toastmastersclubs.org/ is only minimally rendering, while other sites are "timing out".

For example:
The connection has timed out
The server at 8639.toastmastersclubs.org is taking too long to respond.

More or less same problem with Firefox, Chrome, IE 10.

I've also tried several other FTH sites, and have same problem. Perhaps an internet glitch.

Loads fine for me.

I've also tried from an Amazon instance...and it's exhibiting the same problem.

I am having the same issue with 4611.toastmastersclubs.org/
My issue is similar to this one where it works fine when not on our company network, but most of our members are on the network when they need to access.

Issue started happening around the same time as others have reported around 2 weeks ago.

Is there a reason that from certain IPs the site would not respond?

Here are the details from the firewall logs:
Outbound:
"Built outbound tcp connection 3632915112 for OUTSIDE:50.19.253.65/443 (50.19.253.65/443) to INSIDE:10.12.10.116/22546 (162.107.240.253/22546)"

Website reply back to us:
"Teardown tcp connection 3632910335 for OUTSIDE:50.19.253.65/80 to INSIDE:10.12.10.116/8123 duration 0:00:30 bytes 0 SYN Timeout"

So we are getting there but we are not getting a reply back from them within 30 seconds. The connection times out and dies. Looks like others are having the same issue.

I wonder if there's some sort of IP blocking.

I tried to crawl the site yesterday to bring it "local" to my computer to demo some of the functionality (look and feel at least). I didn't give it much thought, but the crawl was unsuccessful, and that's when the problem may have started.

All other members have been successful in connecting to it - and they probably use same ISP.

The Amazon instance doesn't work...but that might make sense and it is potentially a vector for webcrawlers.

Any thoughts?

This is something I think Brian will have to look into... he has access to more information and logs than the rest of us.

If access works fine when you're not on the company network, but is problematic when you are — then you need to talk to the company's IT people. They may have put a firewall or other security rule in place that's causing problems.

Pretty much the same problem here. Tried 3 different club websites and just toastmastersclubs.org from the company network over the past couple of weeks and the connection times out on IE and on Chrome. No problem from mobile device at the same time. While I appreciate the sentiment of "talk to your IT people", I wonder: if several people started to have the same problem just recently all of a sudden, there maybe something going on on the other end.

Unfortunately, many corporations or government locations need to have the super tight restrictions to protect their products, people and clients. Being able to connect, while being a priority for club members, is not necessarily a priority for the company.

With that in mind, those that can connect using personal devices, not connected to the company network, may need to connect from home or with their mobile devices to maintain certain portions of the website until the website becomes a trusted site. The corporate club I was in relied on internal emails for communication while at the office, and the website outside of work hours. With FTH2, you have the flexibility of entering 2 email addresses to receive communications. I have my work email and my personal email in my profile.

I'm not on a work network...I'm trying to access from home.

I don't think there's anything going on with my router, but will try to have a look.

If you find your FreeToastHost access blocked, always please post your IP address (see whatismyipaddress.com/ ) here so we can check if there is a server block on it.

184.71.134.158 was blocked due to over 50 404 errors in 1 minute this is seen as a server attack and the IP is blocked.

Mystery solved - unblocking my ip address solved the problem.

Funny thing was I was trying to get a "local" copy of our freetoasthost site to demo to our club members - as we don't have internet connectivity at club meeting.
