Settings you said to use are already set. I am on Internet Explorer10 with Windows 7. The link for our website will not work. 6928.toastmastersclubs.org. Keeps saying "Cannot Be Found". I have gone through the guide in freetoasthost, I cannot find anything in there it says to do or go to.

6928.toastmastersclubs.org is working.

Try clearing the browser cache / temporary internet files and see if that helps. This seems to be a fairly frequent problem.

Let me start over, one more time. This is a brand new website I am trying to start for my club. ( Club #6928). There are 2 addresses I got from Toastmasters:
1) 6928.toastmastersclubs.org
2) sugartown.freetoasthost.org
Sugar Town Sweet Talkers is the name of our club, club # 6928 in Taber, Alberta, CANADA. I keep getting a message saying it cannot be found. I have not put anything on it yet, because I cannot access it, and no one on here seems to grasp that concept !!! I apologize for sounding rude, but this is very frustrating and very, very, aggravating, because I cannot get this website to work. I need help !!!!

Ian,

I can open 6928.toastmastersclubs.org.

sugartown.freetoasthost.org was shut down over a year ago when the servers were decommissioned.

What browser and version are you using.

If it is Internet Explorer, it must be at least IE8 Check this FAQ.: support.toastmastersclubs.org/browser-compatability

Also make sure you have the latest version of Flash installed, you will need it later.

Refer the the documents in : support.toastmastersclubs.org/docs, but please do not be shy about asking questions.

How is it you can open it, and I can't? I am on Internet Explorer 10 and Windows 7. I just did a windows update. I went through the guide, where is the Admin Console? Every time I go online and Google it, it takes me to AVG Secure Search, and all different toastmasters websites come up except ours. I can open it on my smart phone, but not on my computer. Still keeps saying it cannot be found. Getting very frustrated with this.

This thread's topic name was renamed to make it distinct from another with the same name ... it was causing confusion.

I got it this time. It will not accept my name or email address when I log in. It also wants a password, and the guide says not to enter a password when logging for the first time. I tried logging in as a member, and as site administrator.

Ian,

The reason it does not recognize your name or email as a member is because you have no members in the site yet.

As far as your admin password, check your email for an authentication link, including your junk email.

I got three actually. The first one is from FreeToastHost Administration team telling me I requested a password reset, which I do not need.
The second one is from This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with a login key which did not work. The third one is from Membership (Toastmasters.org), saying my website is set up, and the website address is sugartown.freetoasthost.org. This comes up : cannot be found.I followed a link from an email, and it took me to a Toastmasters.org page that has all our club info on it, ( Meeting time and place, etc.) At the very bottom of the page it also says our website address is : sugartown.freetoasthost.org,. When I Google that, AVG isearch keeps saying: Oops! Not Found.

Ok, I am going to jump in here...

Lets try to cut down on some of the confusion so that we can get you on the right path...
1st - The website reference on the following Toastmasters Find a Club page is totally bogus: reports.toastmasters.org/findaclub/zoomc....x=52&imageField.y=7
A club officer will need to correct the website address shown on this page via Club Central.
Have them reference the following doc: support.toastmastersclubs.org/administra...ontact-email-address

Please ignore any references to a website address ending in freetoasthost.org That is a FreeToastHost 1.0 website reference, likely to your old FTH1 website... FTH1 was shut down early last year... all related club websites were deleted and that is why AVG search is telling you it cannot find it.
2nd - The current FreeToastHost system is 2.0 and all club websites that do not use a custom domain name end in toastmastersclubs.org . We can confirm that your new website has been created and is active and it's address is 6928.toastmastersclubs.org . This is the website address that someone from your exec will need to enter for the Find a Club reference via Club Central to correct the information.
3rd - Make sure that you are logging in as an admin not as a member, since you have no members listed in your website yet, as Roger mentions. See here please for the link to use for the admin login:

4th- Did you try the login key with the admin login??? (not the member login) If not, please try that.

telling me I requested a password reset, which I do not need.

If you still cannot get in, please try the password reset, anyway. You may have to do that if the login key was somehow invalidated by a password reset sent out. However, do not just ignore the password reset... try it last. (I have a hunch the password reset email is the one you need to follow.)

Ok. I got the email with the login key, but when I click on it, AVG Search comes up. It won't take me directly to the website. I have the website bookmarked on my computer.

Ian,

The AVG search engine is the problem. You will probably need to uninstall it.

Ian,

I have never received the Firefox message, but I can open any site with Firefox, Google Chrome and IE9. I have never tried with IE10.

Is there a compatability setting that may be on?

A message came up telling me I should use firefox.

Ignore that message if you want to. It may be caused by an issue with you using IE10 that has not yet been resolved. We have seen issues with using IE10... not sure if all of them got resolved. (It is why I went back to IE9.)

Ian,

I am pretty sure you are doing this incorrectly. I just pretended to forget my admin password on my club's website to refresh my memory.

When you click on the link in the email that takes you to your club website, the link effectively logs you in as the Admin at that point. There is no need for an additional Admin login when you do the link from the email. You should already be logged in as the admin and the admin console should be available to you.

After using the link that takes you to your website, look down along the left for "launch admin console". Click on that *immediately* after you reach the website from the link. After the Admin console shows up, Select "Administrator Information" from the drop down menu. On the page that shows up, you should see where you set and confirm your admin password. Set a new password and click the save button.

Close the Admin console, then logout as the admin, then log back into the admin console with the password you just set to confirm it works.

Let us know what happens.
