Does anyone have any suggestions for the best way to set up the club as an entity to purchase a domain name? I have no problem making the purchase, but I am looking forward to a time when I might not be involved with the club. Is there a particular method that needs to be followed, or should I just create a new account at a registrar to buy the domain and then worry about transition at a later time?

My answer would be: why purchase a domain name?

Fits on a poster.

Easier to to read.

Better name recognition.

Better marketing.

All the cool clubs are doing it.

If your club has a secretarial history were information is actually passed secretary to secretary great if not you could upload the details of the domain except for the pin and password at the registrar into the members only area.
