My issue is that I have our club's # and site admin login. I enter it all and no box pops up to let me make admin changes. How do I get in? Thanks!

Once you log in as the site admin then in the left menu you need to click the link "launch admin console"

Ok, there is definitely something buggy going on here. Once again, I go to the site, click login as administrator, put in my login and password. It acts like it takes it just fine, but there is no "launch admin console" line to the left. What's strange it, after you replied to me 2 days ago, it WAS there. Now today I login exactly the same and there's nothing.

This has happened over and over. What do you suggest?

Thanks!

Internet Explorer 8. I can't change it because we have virtual machines with lots of security and little ability to change things like what web broswer we can use.

FYI, no other site that I log on to is doing this to me. This is the only one I've encountered.

Hmmm... IE8... I don't have IE8 available to me right now.
Maybe Brian can check the login via IE8.

Alright, I run IE9 at my place of work.

I just went into the IE9 Developer Panel and turned on the IE8 simulation mode.
I was able to do the admin login without a problem.
I also turned on the so-called "quirks" mode, and I was able to do the admin login without issue.

What I would suggest to you is to run IE8 with No Add-ons and see if that makes a difference.

I just tried that path and the last step "internet explorer (no add-ons)" doesn't exist on my computer.

Any other ideas?

Ok, what operating system? XP, Vista?

Can you enter the following in at your search/run prompt off of your start menu?
iexplore.exe -extoff

If we are lucky, that will run IE without the add-ons. If you get that to work, try going to your website and logging in again.

I haven't even done yet what you recommend above, but I just tried logging in (for the heck of it) and it let me in, no problem. Is it because of something you just did, accessing the site? Because that is what seems to have been happening over the last few days .... I would have trouble, Brian would check it out, I'd go back in and have no problems logging in. Then the next time I tried, I'd be locked out.

I will see about the -extoff solution above, but i just wanted to give you the heads up that it let me in.

We are on XP and it just told me (when I ran your program) that explorer is running without add-ons.

I did make a small change in the Admin Login form today to add a link to the change form for Site Administrators.

It was just content though, no code change except for increasing the height of the dialog.

I'm just going to give up for now trying to find out why it gets stuck and figure that it will eventually let me in. I believe it has something to do with our virtual desktop environment. What's a little unsettling is that not only does it sometimes prevent me from loggin in, it then also doesn't truly log me out as administrator. Even though I click "log out," the next time I go in, I'm still logged in. And more unsettling, is that I had one of my coworkers who is also on the virtual system go to the website, and it was open for her to made admin changes -- it didn't log me out from last time. Then another coworker who is NOT virutal was NOT able to access the admin console. So all of this is why I say it must be related to the virtual desktop environment.

Thank you both for all the time you've devoted to helping me!
