I mistakenly changed the website alias and now the site is all gone. How do I recover it?

Please add your club number to every request.

You can browse to your website by using your club number instead of the alias. So if your club number is nnnn, you'd go to nnnn.toastmastersclubs.org

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I was able to follow your instructions and recovered the site. I changed the website alias back to what it was originally.

Now, I have another question. There is another Lakeland Toastmasters club that's located in Florida. When I type Lakeland Toastmasters Club in google, the Florida club shows up on the results page but our club does not. Our club is located in Michigan. Is there a way to change the alias or something so that we can put LakelandMI or LakelandMichigan.Toastmastersclub.org?

You can change the alias to anything you like, as long as it's only letters and numbers. It's best to keep it brief, or it's a bit hard on people who have to type it in.

If yours is a fairly new site, it make take a while for it to show up in the Google search rankings. Make sure that your listing is up to date on any sites where it exists e.g. your District site. This is one way that Google finds websites - through external links.

Thank you so much for the quick reply, Jane.

Two more questions:
1. how do we update the information that appears under public downloads?
2. How do we upload our own videos on the website?

For file uploads, see support.toastmastersclubs.org/docs/admin...item/file-management

You can't upload videos to FTH. Instead, you can host them on YouTube and link to them. There's information somewhere on the site about how to do that, though I don't recall where. The Tips and Tricks forum would be a good place to start.

Can you be a bit more specific about what you are trying to update?

Also, make sure that your club information is correct on the TM Find a Club page... that information is used by Google (e.g. a bad link to your website), so if it is wrong it will affect the search results.
