I tried adding the below code to my webpage but Google does not recognize it. I am editing our homepage to display the code, I also tried putting it in the same spot I have Google Analytics but it still does not give me a success message. Any idea where I can put the code to make it work?

I get the error: Check that the line of code was added to your site's homepage and that the modified homepage is live on your site. Then try testing again.

By adding a short line of code to (tm website), you can make your Google+ page eligible to show up on the right hand side of the Google search page for relevant queries and make your Google+ page more discoverable

you are not using the correct tag

support.toastmastersclubs.org/docs/item/basic-website-settings

Once you register your site with Google Webmaster Central, you will be asked to authorize/verify your site. Do this using the meta tag option (click on the "Alternate Methods" tab). Copy and paste the entire tag into the field in the Website Settings.

Hi Brian,

I have already verified my website via Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools. I am wondering specifically about the Google Plus code.

Thank you, I have it as an icon already. This verification allows the web page to gain authorship status and changes the way it shows up in the Google search results for the better. Rel = "publisher" it is called. See this link .

Brian: It sounds like they are trying to "tweak" their club website to add in a Google plus feature that is not directly supported by FTH2.

ddbaker2: What is your club number? Have you looked at the browser source view of your web page to see if it is getting placed correctly in the page head?

The page you referenced also shows some type of link code that you did not reference in your original post...
www.vervesearch.com/blog/wp-content/uplo...etnrelpublisher1.png

This is a very obscure thing that I have never heard of before.

You may be able to get away with tacking it on the beginning or end of the Google Analytics script code or the webmaster stuff, but no guarantees. The code does some verification of the legitimacy of these things.
