I've acquired responsibility as the website administrator and want to get it going, but hit a wall immediately with an error message re: our domain not pointing correctly: This domain is not yet pointing to the IP address 50.19.253.65. In your domain registrar's DNS area, modify the exisitng "A" and "MX" records for this domain, to point to 50.19.253.65, wait the amount of time as specified by your domain host, then try again. Where do I find our domain registrar? Thanks.

I think you will also get that if you enter a domain name that is not registered.

Do you know if you have a registered domain name or did you put the website alias in the domain name spot?

There's no domain name listed in the club website. It just shows an alias of fortpiercetoastmasters.

I would suggest shortening that to fortpierce. Then the site's URL becomes fortpierce.toastmastersclubs.org

Once you've done that, there's nothing else you need to do.

We have a webpage with Toast Host and I put the URL that came up. Where is the domain host or registrar or whatever?

I get the feeling that you may be a little confused regarding domain names and aliases. That's quite understandable; this sort of thing can be bewildering if you're new to it.

Have a look at support.toastmastersclubs.org/docs/item/website-alias and support.toastmastersclubs.org/docs/item/...whats-the-difference That should answer some of your questions.

Domain names are optional. It's up to your club to decide if they want to pay for a more distinctive URL.

Unless your club actually pays for a club domain, you don't need to worry about that field.
