The Daybreakers club (839) in Houston Texas has purchased the URL's - houstondaybreakers.net and houstondaybreakers.org from Godaddy.com, and we tried to redirect those websites to 839.toastmastersclubs.org. It does not work, and a support tech at Godaddy investigated and thinks the problem is with your server, and the subdomain. He suggested you go to whatsmydns.net, enter 839.toastmastersclubs.org in the DNS propagation box, and using the search code "A" or "NS", you get all errors: Error: invalid hostname. The tech stated that once you see this you will have a good idea where the problem may be. We recently lost our dotcom website because the hosting service did not tell us that it expired, and some other group took it - why, we have no clue. We really want the houstondaybreakers name. Please help.

Setting up domain names is an advanced topic--you need to be asking us questions before diving into this.

There is nothing wrong with the server.

Per prior direction from Brian, do not do redirects at the domain registrar. Bad idea.

Having said that, here are the directions for setting up a custom domain name:
support.toastmastersclubs.org/docs/item/...r-various-registrars

Scroll down to the section covering GoDaddy. Those are the DNS settings that you must set up on GoDaddy's website to get everything working properly, including email. You must set those settings up exactly as the doc says. If you leave off the MX setting, for example, you will not get the FTH email forwarding features.

Once you have followed this correct approach to setting up your domain name, come back here if you have any issues. We can help you troubleshoot any problems.
