Hello.
Our club has a general email of This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. which we prefer to use with guests, for RSVPs to open houses, etc. I thought it was set up so emails to this address would come to the 3 people we have set up for the Contact Form info (I am one of the 3), but now I can't find where that was set up, and I'm wondering if it's working. I also want to use this as the email on our Twitter account, but that confirmation email is not reaching me.

Deb,

The admin console layout may have changed since you last made changes to the contact form.

click launch Admin Console, then in the dropdown, choose email & contact Forms. click on the Contact Form tab.

i will send you a test email as well.

Thank you. The test email worked fine. The only remaining question is the confirmation to this email from our Twitter account--which is being sent to this same email address. Any idea why that is not reaching me?

Yes. And I've sent a second time, but the Twitter account still shows this message " You still need to confirm your email change. A confirmation email was sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Your email will not be changed until you complete this step!" And I have not received either email (I've checked my spam filter as well).

As you can see we delivered the email to your mail server. There is nothing else we can do.

Are you referring to the test emai you sent, or the email that came from our club's Twitter account? I want to be sure you understand that I AM receiving emails sent directly to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. but the problem is when I try to set this up as the contact email for our Twitter account--the confirmation email Twitter sends to this address is not reaching me. Can you check to see if the emails from Twitter to this address are passing through your servers? I have resent it several times over the last couple of days.

Some of those types of confirmation emails do seem to get stopped by the FTH mail handler. I have seen this also.
Frequently, those confirmation emails have a noreply reply to address or something else that triggers them getting stopped.

Some things to try that *might* work...

1. Remove everyone else on the contact email except yourself, then send the confirmation.

2. If 1 does not work, you may need to set up an intermediate email address/account (gmail, outlook, yahoo, etc.) that you can send the confirmation to and then set it to forward Twitter emails to the actual contact email address. Depending on how picky Twitter is, you may have to leave this intermediate email address/account in place.

I have had a similar experience when I tried to set up Google Voice for my club... getting the confirmation email handled took a lot of creative manipulation.

I just set up an Twitter account for my club. Although Twitter states that the contact email address is available, I also do not receive confirmation emails. I then tried my This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. email. That also did not receive the confirmation email. When I switch to a personal hotmail account, I do receive a confirmation. I have set up to forward that email to my regular email.

One of the features I hope to add in the next FTH update is some type of email white list feature.

One of the objectives of that would be to allow clubs to more gracefully handle things like these confirmation emails. If implemented the way I would like, you would be able to white list the appropriate Twitter email address or the whole Twitter domain (in this case), and any and all emails from that email address/domain would be allowed to pass through unhindered.

Right now, it can be a challenge for clubs to set up and use certain outside services (e.g. Twitter) that generate legitimate emails to club members. Frequently you have to do some kludgy things like setting up a "dummy member" with the service's email address and/or set up intermediary email accounts to get it to work right. I hope to simplify that in the near future.

Thank you Steve.

Once that is implemented, I will change our twitter from my personal email to a club-officer email.
