Dear all

For the last few days, I have been unable to access hamburg.toastmastersclubs.org and I was hoping you might be able to help.

I've tried to open the site with Firefox, but it tells me the connection had timed out. My iPad won't load the site either; Safari says the server didn't reply. Other members of my club had no problems.

Clearing my browser's cache and cookies didn't help.

One more point (and I'm not sure if it's important or not): I was recently made my club's vice president public relations and e-mails to the respective address are now forwarded to my private e-mail address. Could it be possible my new office has changed my user status, as it were, or otherwise caused my exclusion from access to the site?

I'm looking forward to a reply and your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require further details.

Someone from your ISP tried to hack our server and it blocked your ISP in defense.

I have removed the block for now but it may happen again.

Thank you, Brian, for the prompt reply.

Was that attempt to hack your server something done by someone who just happened to be using the same ISP as I do, or was this somehow linked to my own computer? In other words, is there something I need to worry about?

Most likely nothing directly connected with your computer. Some anti-spam software can take a rather general approach and block an entire ISP, especially if it's a smaller one. Brian should be able to clarify when he's next online.

You may want to consider a different ISP.
