I can access the site from here without problems.

What exactly did you update? If you've accidentally created broken links to images, the server doesn't like it and will lock you out (it happened to me, once  ). One easy way to check is to try other FreeToastHost websites, such as the ones in my signature. If they don't work, then you've almost certainly been locked out.

If that's the case, you'll need to wait for Brian to reset things, which won't be until the morning now.

I just went in and ditched two broken image links on your home page. You may or may not be able to get in now... it depends on how many times the server tried to fetch the missing images before it decided to give up and block your IP address. As Jane notes, if there is a block, Brian will need to remove it.

Hi Brian,
Thankyou for your help in restoring our Toronto Toastmasters site. I was updating our image library with two images and they uploaded alright. It seems when I tried to updates the home page with an image and text and save it, which I now found it did not save, may be were the problem may lie. Just wondering if there is something I should look out before doing it again? I shall be away for four days but will take on the the update when I return!
Thanks once again for your help and may I will you compliment of the seasons.
Regards,
John Frost

Hughagon:

I moved your reply to your support thread. Please do not post on someone else's thread for your issue. It makes them get emailed your reply notifications in addition their own.

You have to realize that putting images in a web page is basically a two part process. If either part is changed, you can end up with issues.

When you upload an updated image file, unless the name is exactly the same as the one you are replacing, you will have issues. The reason for this is that the second part of the process, which is when you insert the <img> tags in the editor, will still refer to the old file name unless you specifically go in and right click/edit the image references using the editor tools.

The "safe" way to update images is the following:

1. Right click on each existing image in the editor that you want to swap out, click edit image.
2. Upload your new updated image with the Upload button in the editor image tool and delete the old image, if desired.
3. Use the editor's Browse button to browse to the updated image. Select the updated image, then click Save from the image tool. This keeps the existing <img> tag in the HTML, but updates it to point to your new image. Unless you do this browse step, the tag will still point to the old image regardless of your upload and you will have a broken <img> link. The img tags do not automatically get updated.

My intention is to eventually implement an "image swapper" tool to make this easy. Seems like a lot of people get tripped up on this.
