We have a member whose email ends in "Comcast.net". He has been a member since the beginning of the club two years ago.

For the last three months, whenever the member receives emails from the club's website to his "Comcast.net" email, he also receives a "mail undelivered message" on a "Comcast.com" address he supposedly has but doesn't, It seems the membership@<our_clubname>,com would include both addresses.

How is this possible? The website clearly has only the "Comcast.net" address in the membership management page.

He may possibly have a comcast.com address defined as the secondary email in his member profile. You can't see this address in the membership management panel.

Either he needs to disable this himself (assuming it's there) or the admin can login as him - by using his name but the admin password - in order to check this.

If that's not the reason, there's something strange going on. It may have to do with updates to the email system on FTH, or something at the comcast end.

Thank you Jane!

I wasn't aware I could go into a member's profile as admin, so I did. His profile gave just a primary email (the "comcast.net" address) & no secondary email. I then remembered his wife, also a member, wants to use the same email address & checked her profile. She had the "comcast, com" address.

I tried to correct the address but, as expected, the website would not accept one email address to be used twice. I put a blank for the primary address, the website would not accept the "same" address for both primary & secondary address in a member's profile.

Finally, I went to Membership Management. It also refused to have the same email for two members. I then removed the "comcast.com" address, a bogus "noemail_<a bunch of numbers>@toastmasters.org" was created and inserted as the second member's primary email in her profile.

I think this will solve the problem. We'll see how the bogus email will be handled.

Thanks again

The system generates the noemail-nnnnn when someone does not have an email address, they system does not send an email to those email addresses.

Comcast does allow them to set up aliases/forwarders to their main email account so she could have her own email address that ended up in the same family account, have her contact comcast.
