Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I can read documentation but I would appreciate if someone could just explaining it, as I have been trying for hours to work this out.

How can I assign roles to other members, as an administrator.

To get the site going I am looking to add the names of members to the roles myself.

Thanks.

Edit the agenda, then select the people from the pull down and save the agenda.

We are all Toastmasters and volunteers here, with limited lime to contribute and jobs and families and other commitments.

We strive to provide good documentation so that we can focus our time and energies on users that have issues/concerns not covered by the documentation. We do not have time or any money for extensive training.

Therefore, we really need our users to do due diligence and search the existing documentation and forum posts first since often your concerns have already been addressed there. If the documentation needs improvement, please let us know that... we want it to be effective.

If you cannot find the answers to your question in the documentation or forum posts, then certainly we are glad to help.

To repeat what Steve said, if the documentation needs improvement - it's hard to understand or there's something important missing from it - we'd like to know. However, to be able to fix it, we'd need to know what specifically the problem is.

You can post anything of that kind in the documentation feedback forum.

I am also a volunteer and don't have the time to search for documentation, let alone read through it etc. I had already searched the forum and spent quite some time trying to work it out. For all I knew this may not even have been possible.

I can only suggest that the initial setup page of the agenda be made to make it clear where these names can be entered. There is a box, but unless you click on it there appears to be no hint that it includes names for roles. The vacant part of the box may be made to state, "Enter members name here" or similar. Or text could be placed next to the box. That said, the setup is generally excellent, and the online agenda is a great addition, so no real complaints, only appreciation for the site etc.

Thanks for your help.

I will do stuff like this if I think it is warranted and does not take much time to change it. (More extensive change requests should be logged in the improvements suggestions forum for users and us to review and include in future updates.) In this case, I was able to locate the relevant code and make the changes in less than an hour. I agree that the lack of a label on the drop down could be confusing. Also, it was unclear what to do if a user wanted to change a role assignment to "unassigned".

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
