Greetings,
I am the website administrator for my TM club website. I am also mentoring a new club in Northfield, MN. The club is enthusiastic and has been eagerly trying to engage both students (two colleges in town) and other community members. We have been aware and alerted by a new student member that social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) are the way to the hearts of the students. As my club is housed at the U of MN, I know this is true. Most of our new members come directly by engaging with our website; which we keep updated with current photos and the like.

I think it would be great if the new club in Northfield could get their own website. I've volunteered to help them get it set up. They aren't yet chartered (i.e. they don't yet have 20 members) but they could use the visibility now. Would it be possible to get a website for them?

Let me know.
Growing a new club is different in this new cyber world of today and having the website I think will make a big difference in our ability to recruit new people to the club successfully.

Please let me know if this is a possibility.

An unchartered club CAN get a FTH website if they file the "Authorization to Organize" and pay the "Charter Fee", they will then be given a club number. The club will then appear on their districts perspective club report and we can give them a FTH website.

I don't believe that club has done that yet because they don't have the critical mass at this time of 20 members. Of course we are using every other possible means (flyers, events, a meetup website) to promote the new club but I don't think our message is really getting to the students at the two colleges because they don't really notice flyers nor events necessarily. A consistent presence with a website would be ideal.
I was just chatting with TM International on-line and their response is that I needed to come to the provider of the websites directly since the club would not yet have the charter number needed.

Can you help us? I think that if we could get a site up we would attract more students and others in the community and the photos, YouTube, event promotion via Facebook could really help.

Thank you Brian;

I will follow up to be sure the club has paid the Charter Fee and Authorization to Organize. If they haven't yet would there be anyway to get a website started prior to that point?

Jodi,

You do not need a critical mass to file the Application To Organize a Club.

As Brian states, once the Application is filed, and the application fee is received, you will receive a club number.

I am going through the same process with 2 clubs in my area. 1 has a club number, the 2nd one, not until we pay the fee.

We only require those 2 pieces be completed. They do not have to file the other 5 parts.

Sorry no we will only give out a FTH website if those conditions are met.
