This is in Marietta, GA . A club from Marietta, OH is even showing up, but our club is not. tmats.toastmastersclubs.org

RogerM Visitor	My recommendation is that you add more pages, and add the keywords that you have on your home page. Currently you only have 1 custom page, with no keywords at all. When was the last time you found your club in a search? Can you tell me what words you are using in the search?

Brian Offline Administrator Posts: 10441 Thank you received: 3862	1) make your site marietta.toastmastersclubs.org 2) use the word Marietta Toastmasters on your site many times 3) change the url on club central to match your new club alias. 4) remember search engines search text not pictures, so have text with every picture and use Marietta Toastmasters in the description of the picture

Clubs sometimes wonder why their club does not come up right away in search engine results when they search by city.

In my experience, you need to make sure you are doing everything you can to help the search engines find you. I took a look at your website. Here is what I found:

Description:
The official web site of club  #1430  in Marietta Toastmasters at the Square

Keywords:
Public Speaking, Toastmasters, speech, Marietta, Square, big chicken, GA, Leadership, communication

Home page text:
Some of our group at the Area International Speech and Table Topics Contest where Tracie Grabarkewitz (3rd from left on front row) came in 1st place in the Table Topics Contest.  Congrats Tracie!!   And thank you for showing of what this Marietta Toastmasters club is made.

These are used by search engines to find you and rank you in results. My opinions:

1. Description is short, terse and disorganized, no mention of Marietta in Georgia... could be a club in Marietta, OH. (not specific) I would put something like Welcome to the official web site of Toastmasters Club #1430, Toastmasters at the Square, located in Marietta, Georgia. We meet ___ on __days of each ____. (It should show up in search results as an invitation to be clicked.)

2. Keywords are disorganized. Spell out Georgia and place it after Marietta without a comma (Marietta Georgia) so they are grouped together. Don't just say Square... use Toastmasters at the Square. (Or use both.) Use lots of keywords and variations on them... objective is to be found.

3. Home page text is short and does not serve as an invitation to a prospective website visitor. Home page text does not mention Marietta *Georgia*.

So... my question is given what i see why should you expect to be found with Marietta Georgia?
