I am trying to post our budget, a pdf file, as a custom web page. However, only the URL appears and the file is never downloaded.

You can not past a pdf, is a special type of file. A pdf is not an image either.

You can upload the pdf via the file manager and link to it. The person wanting to read the file will download it and view it using the adobe pdf reader.

Yes, I have uploaded the PDF, but I did not succeed to link to it. Instead, if I click on the link for the budget at the left of the home page, a new page opens showing the URL of the file. It works fine, however, for the minutes of the last meeting. The problem is that when I creat a new custom web page, I do not manage to put the URL of the page in a proper manner where it says "Your Web Page Content / or Link URL".

To get the url of a file in the file manager have a look at these docs.

Thank you. I have the link to my file, it looks like this:
beaconsfield.toastmastersclubs.org/jdown...ownload&path=937.pdf
I try to copy this into the page. I would be thankful if a programmer could look into the custom page on my web site and see why I do not get the file dowloaded. I cannot figure out what I did wrong. I d not manage to paste the URL in normal mode, only in I run Safari on OSX 10.6.8. See attached file for what I see.

You need to make a title like "BTM 2014-2015 Budget" highlight the words then click the chain icon and paste the link into the popup box.

I finally figured it out:
The fields "Web Page Name" and "Web Page Description" must be empty, else the custom page will not be recognized as a link.
