I have inserted pictures into my websites News Page
soundshore.toastmastersclubs.org/News.html#null

They are in the correct direction, but when I look at the pictures on several different apple devices the pictures, for the posts on 10/2/2014 and 9/15/2014, change rotation.

Do you know how I can stop the pictures from rotating?

Thank you,

Robin Smith

It seems this is an issue with photos taken on an Apple device that are subsequently rotated on a PC. Not all photo editing packages deal with EXIF correctly, and some of the header information is lost so when the picture is viewed on an Apple device it shows incorrectly. One of the articles I read recommends Picasa for editing.

An alternative I would try is to take a screen dump of the upright picture on the PC and upload that image instead. The first few points in this document explain how to take a screen dump: support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/h...ake-a-screen-capture

Someone else might have a better solution.

Animated gif mimicks a slideshow. Far from ideal but an option.

Now you have a layman trying to explain something technical.

EXIF = Exchangeable Image File Format. All the meta data related to electronic images (and some other media) including date and time, camera model and orientation. When lost it turns :) to :side:

Well, I have never heard of EXIF before. So, layman or not, thanks for the explanation.

Brad: I think this is more about picture orientation rather than swapping them out in slideshow fashion. ;)
