LindaMann Topic Author Visitor	Is it possible to just change the name of a website of a Freetoasthost rather than cancel that website and start another? Pro-Con Debaters is no more, however they started another one and they want for me to make up a new one for the new club... I'm assuming that you're talking about a club that no longer exists, but another club has risen from the ashes, so to speak.

The thing is that the sites are identified by club number. "procondebaters" is an alias - the actual site definition is 2549330.toastmastersclubs.org This is the reason we ask for club number - so that we know which site we're dealing with. If you used that site for a club with a different number, it's going to cause confusion, hair-tearing and who knows what else further down the line.

Cancelling a club site is a fairly straightforward matter. All you have to do is leave a message for Brian and he will take care of it, usually within a few hours.

You don't even have to wait for that to happen before you apply for the new site. That's assuming that the club has applied to TI and got a club number.

It may take Google a few weeks to catch up with the change. Making sure that any links to the site, such as from TI, your District and local community sites are also updated will help.
