I have two questions for you.

I want to open our TMI New Member Application in Adobe Reader. If I link as directed to pointmugu.toastmastersclubs.org/jdownloa...mber_Application.pdf , it automatically downloads the file. That's OK but I would rather open the pdf in the browser window. How can I make that happen?

Secondly, after all the new revisions that you all made, I now have two new links in the Members Only Menu that are there and active all of the time, regardless of being logged on as a member or not. These go to powerful stuff - a non-member should not be able to see this. Makes me NERVOUS!

1) The download stuff works differently for different browsers. Even if I gave you an alternate action= to use for the downloader, I could not guarantee it would work the same with every browser. That is why I do not give out the alternate. If I did, everyone would complain that we are not making it work right with browser x.

2) On the links... Ok, got your point of view, and I am open to being persuaded. However, keep in mind that a non-member cannot really do anything unless they are logged in as a member or admin. If I disabled those links, except for a member or admin login, then it might be an impediment for members/admin to actually use them. I want those links to get used, that is why I put them there. However, perhaps I am missing something... Your turn... Help me see the light. ;)

Thanks for your quick response SteveTheTechie!

1) I understand this - got it.

2) If I was a curious & competent visitor to our website, I would do lots of exploring around. I would click on these links, and even though I couldn't really do anything without privileges, I would feel like the webmaster didn't know what they were doing to even expose me to this information. I feel that it reflects badly on us. I think the links should be disabled for non-members... all of the other links are disabled. These definitely should be!

Thanks for considering this,
Stephanie Garcia

2) Ok, fair enough. Let me look at what it would take to only enable them for member and admin log-ins. How does that sound? (give me a week or two)
