I want to have a slide show, I have tried, only my computer knows! I can't make Flicr and Flickit work for me. I will attach here what I have done step by step.. I will appreciate whatever help I can get. Aida.

I tried to attach but for some reason I can't....

File won't attach, it is about 3 pages long, could that be the reason why I can't?

Oh, I had pictures in Word. and since I have Windows 8.1 I lost my PDF. Is it ok to put 5 pages of pictures to explain what I have done?

THANK YOU!! I DID IT...
At first, I got the instructions, and followed the best I could. I only downloaded 3 pictures for a test in flickr. I have tried so many times, just wondering what is the problem. Aida.

I do not think you need the whole address for Flickrit. I think you only need the set id # after the "sets/" part of the address.

It worked in Flickrit, it didn't give an error sign, I can see slide show, but when I went to our Club Website, and pasted the embed code, it did the same, a line with nothing. Thank you so much for your help. #s 72157651690751431 flickrit.com/index.php Aida.

You have to insert the embed code in source view. Click the Source button in the editor, then paste the embed code in there. When you click Source again, you should see a red box with the word iframe in it. That is just a placeholder for the slideshow. When you save the page, and exit the admin console, you should be able to see the slide show on whatever page it is located.

BTW, there are options you can set for the slideshow on the Flickrit page. They are at the bottom left... there is a more options link or something like that to expose those options.

Please eat!

Just put the code at the top. You can move it around a bit once you switch out of source view. You can right click on the red placeholder to access the options for the iframe to adjust also. Use those to adjust the size.

Ignore Embed Media from Other Sites... It is not relevant for this.

You saved my life.. Thank you for your pacience. For me it is like speaking French but not knowing what I am saying! open the Website southdade.toastmastersclubs.org/ and see the slide show, I didn't change anything, I thought it would be under the Toastmaster of the day, I think I like where is it. Thank you again. Aida.

Well, you should be able to move it elsewhere and change the size if you want.

Also, as you upload photos to your Flickr account, you should see them show up on the slideshow up to whatever limit you set for number of photos in the FlickrIt options. (Assuming you assign the new photos to the same set/album as you are using for the slideshow.)

I would recommend revisiting the Flickrit options to get familiar with them. You can change the options without having to reinsert the embed codes. Just change the options on the Flickrit website and watch what changes in the embed code. You can make those changes in the embed code on your website manually without having to redo the embed code.

The set # is what ties the slideshow to the set/album in your flickr account. As long as you add the photos to that set/album, they should show up.

I think the default limit for Flickrit is 30 photos, so you have plenty to go.

Steve, you have helped me beyond what I ever dreamed! I even mad the pictures smaller! I don' want to burn you out, but I have another question. How can I move the slide show under the picture of the TM of the week and before the group picture? I just put the embed code in "SOURCE" I don't know what else to do, should I put the "embed code" in the IFrame bar also? Aida. southdade.toastmastersclubs.org/

Before doing the following, save your home page to a file as a back up. (a precaution) Use the web page tools drop down for that just above the home page editor.

You could select the frame place holder in the editor and cut/paste it to the proper location.

OR

You could cut and paste the code in Source view. (a little trickier) When using Source View, it is always helpful to have a piece of text to look for to clue you in to the proper location in Source View. For example, in this case, you could probably look for the text Meeting Information / Directions in Source View to clue you in to the proper target location in Source View. That text will still be in Source View, just with all the formatting codes, also.

Aida,

I am guessing that there is something off with the iframe code you used--probably the code/number that references your Flickr album or group. Remember, the key is to get this set up so you can see it on the Flickrit website first--it is easier to make changes there. If you cannot see it there, then you will be unlikely to see it on your website.

Yes, it is a bit of a pain, but you know you will be happy once it is up and running. ;)

Also, keep in mind that very few clubs take the extra step to do a slideshow. Setting up any kind of widgets can require some patience and persistence--not everyone has that. So, consider yourself one of our slideshow experts, because you have done it. B) You know it can be a pain to set up, but you also know it does work.

You could always use the Flickr provided widgets (instead of the independent Flickrit widget), but those do not loop from what I understand.

I appreciate your answer Steve. It made me try harder. I tried some more. I have copied what it looks with
The embedded code for South Dade : (It works in both Websites)

<div style="height: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding-bottom: 66%; position: relative;"><iframe frameborder="0" id="iframe" scrolling="no" src="flickrit.com/slideshowholder.php?height=...esponsive&sort=0" style="left: 0px; top: 0px; width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute;">

The embedded code for Miami Advaned:
<div style='position: relative; padding-bottom: 76%; height: 0; overflow: hidden;'><iframe id='iframe' src='//flickrit.com/slideshowholder.php?height=75&size=big&keyword=72157655677668898&credit=1&trans=1&theme=1&thumbnails=0&transition=0&layoutType=responsive&sort=0' scrolling='no' frameborder='0'style='width:100%; height:100%; position: absolute; top:0; left:0;' ></iframe></div>

Do you see a reason not to be able to see pictures? I had 5 pictures, 2 from a former Camera, I even took them off, and left the ones that were taken with the same camera. I have tried everything.. I looked in google, and found out sometimes people have a hard time with slides.. I know I will be able to post the slide show!

For some reason, when I submitted, it did not show the numbers in the embedded code for South Dade, I am doing it again and see if it shows this time.

<div style="height: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding-bottom: 66%; position: relative;"><iframe frameborder="0" id="iframe" scrolling="no" src="flickrit.com/slideshowholder.php?height=...esponsive&sort=0" style="left: 0px; top: 0px; width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute;">

I don't understand, why when I pasted the embedded code for South Dade, it fails to paste the 2 lines on the middle, it contains the number of the album.... and other words.... so strange.

Is this what you mean?

South Dade (works in both sites)
<div style="height: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding-bottom: 66%; position: relative;"><iframe frameborder="0" id="iframe" scrolling="no" src="http://flickrit.com/slideshowholder.php?height=65&amp;size=big&amp;setId=72157651690751431&amp;trans=1&amp;theme=1&amp;thumbnails=0&amp;transition=0&amp;layoutType=responsive&amp;sort=0" style="left: 0px; top: 0px; width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute;"></iframe></div>

Miami Dade, doesn't work. it shows like an invisible picture, and icon on the top right keeps going round and around.
<div style='position: relative; padding-bottom: 76%; height: 0; overflow: hidden;'><iframe id='iframe' src='//flickrit.com/slideshowholder.php?height=75&size=big&keyword=72157655677668898&credit=1&trans=1&theme=1&thumbnails=0&transition=0&layoutType=responsive&sort=0' scrolling='no' frameborder='0'style='width:100%; height:100%; position: absolute; top:0; left:0;' ></iframe></div>
