Hello
Recently the accordion functionality on our club website disappeared (sandton.toastmastersclubs.org).

This may have happened inadvertently when I logged on to change who the contact forms pointed to (I can't think what else could have caused it).

Some important background you should know: Last year we hacked the website somewhat and I can't remember exactly how or why it was done. But if I remember correctly all the code for the accordion was recreated in the Home tab somehow so that we could modify it in some way or other. It worked very well, although there was a temporary problem that every time we would go into the source code, the system would automatically add back a div or a span or some other form of tag. Manually taking that out would make it work great again.

I can't find out what that tag was. Would you mind having a look at the code to see if you can identify what that extra tag is and take it out? (or if you have some other way I can get the accordian back while having our own content, that would be ok too)

Thanks
Eamonn

Thanks Steve
The accordion is working again but there is an extra frame that wasn't there before.

It is possible to put that 'Sandton Toastmasters Profile' section inside the accordion on the same level as 'The Proven way to help you speak and lead'?

thanks

Eamonn,

I got your accordion working for you... Beyond that, you need to make the changes yourself. My role is not to configure each club's website for them--you have to take some responsibility yourself. As using accordions is advanced functionality, I presume that you have some know-how about using HTML directly... otherwise, you should not be using the functionality. :pinch:

You can refer to the following on how to set up the accordion: support.toastmastersclubs.org/6-tips-and...n-your-content#51462 Again, though, if you are not comfortable using the editor's Source View and HTML, do not do this. I did make this easier by eliminating the need for associated scripts in the v2.20 update.

Lastly, LindaMann has been working with the accordion control on her club websites, so she may be able to coach you on fine tuning it.

I have put it on my website and you can make the accordion smaller, but you cannot make it look like the other one's that were there. Please my club website....

Thanks Steve & Linda
I finally figured out what was wrong and got the website back to how it was before with our own custom content under all sub-headings of the main accordion, rather than in a sub-accordion.

The problem was it drops a </div> after the first paragraph. Without that closing tag, the accordion doesn't work. And somehow when you go into the admin console, sometimes it loses that tag for some reason. But its no problem as long as we know to put it back.

Its coming back to me now why we made that change. We needed to customize the content in those sub tabs. Actually the second one is a bit out of date - saying there are 280,000 Toastmasters members where are the number is now 313,000, although that wasn't our only reason for wanting to localize our content a bit.

Thanks for your help

Eamonn, I just took another look at your website and figured out what you did. Brilliant!

This technique goes into the tips and tricks. ;)
