I changed my email address from This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. I changed the information on my profile with Toastmasters International and have changed it on the profiles of the web sites to four of the clubs I belong to. I am the Vice President of Education in three of those clubs - Leadership Pathways 6820; Twilight Toastmasters 1166333; and Mount Ogden Toastmasters Club 1614. I can log in to the web sites, create and update the agendas and email them to the members with no problem. However, when I attempt to send emails to the members through the agenda, FTH flips me to the aol account which has not yet been closed. When I send emails to the club members or to the club officers, I am also sent back to the old email address and then get a response from FTH telling me that I do not have permissions to send emails from This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and that the email does not exist. I also receive the instruction to make certain my name and email address match in my Toastmasters profile. My name is listed at Toastmasters International as Margaret Carr; I prefer, however, to use the nickname Peggy Carr on all club correspondence because that is the name the members are familiar with. I have had no problems with my name when I first started using FreeToastHost

I would appreciate your help.

My guess (and it's only a guess) is that your website admin needs to change your email in the membership management portion of the admin console.

If this only happens when you click on links and send email from your email program, it is most likely that your default email address on your email program is still the AOL address. You need to select which account you want to send from if not from your default account (or change your default account to be the gmail account - I can help with this if you are using Outlook 2013).

The agendas are automatically sent from the address as registered on FTH, but any non-automatic emails are beyond the control of FTH.

Any email sent to you using the FTH functionality will go to the gmail address registered on your FTH profiles.

I have reviewed your previous suggestions. I do not have a default email address. My intent in changing my email address to a Gmail address is to close the AOL account. My email address is correct in Member Management. The sites which are causing problems are: mtogdentoastmasters.toastmastersclubs.org; leadershippathways.toastmastersclubs.org; twilight.toastmastersclubs.org; and 794.toastmastersclubs.org.

I do not have access to Member Management for the 794.toastmastersclubs.org site as yet. I am listed as the site administrator for twilight.toastmasters.org and the correct email address is listed.

I did try (Click here to reload website from server.) suggestion which did not correct the issue.

What exactly do you mean by "FTH flips me to the aol account "? We only send email to the email addresses that are in the system via Membership Management (& your member profile 2nd address), admin email address, and the club archive email address. If you are getting email at an address that is not in the system, I am inclined to ask about any forwarding rules you may have put in place for any of those email addresses. (e.g., email forwarded from one of those addresses to your aol account.)

Steve,

I'm sorry I am not making myself clear. When I attempt to send an email to the club members or to the club officers, I receive an email screen that indicates I am sending the email from my old email address, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The email does not go through because that is no longer a valid account. I receive the following response from FTH: "You do not have the right permissions to send an email to the email address (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) from This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Be sure your "From" address in your email client is the sa,e as your address in your ToastmastersClubs.org member profile." That is a true statement because the email address is no longer an active one; however, that is where something in the FTH system sends me. I have verified the email addresses on my member profile on the Toastmasters web site as well as my personal profile on each of the club web sites that I use. They reflect my email address as This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. which is the correct address. I have not listed a default email address because I plan on canceling my AOL account as soon as I can. If the old address is archived somewhere in one of the accounts, I can't find it. If forwarding rules have been put in place, I don't know how or when they were.

making sure it's right on your profile is DIFFERENT from having the site admin make it right on the membership management in the admin console. fyi

Peggy,

Try doing a test send, but put {{savein, trace}} at the very beginning of the subject. That will toggle some diagnostic tools for the email system. It will capture a copy of the raw email (including headers) as received by the system... then I can take a look at it and see if anything looks off.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have checked the member management section--in three of the four clubs I belong to, I have access to that part of the console and am the site admin for the fourth club -- also with access.

That's the point I've been trying to make. My email address on 794.toastmastersclubs.org has been changed to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. from This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. I even went so far as to change my password for this site (and received the authentication email on my gmail account). IF there is a problem with the gmail account, why am I able to access the password protected areas of the sites with the new email address but CANNOT SEND an email from my new address. I have always felt that FreeToastHost was a much more user friendly site than others that are available such as EasySpeak. I am beginning to change my mind. I do not have the computer skills that those of you moderating this system do but I consider myself intelligent enough to know how to change an email address in the appropriate areas of a web site and to know that when I attempt to send an email, what site it should be sending from. IF there is a problem with my gmail accoumt, why was I able to receive authorization to access this particular forum on gmail.

The Karma level for the customer service I have received in trying to resolve this issue has hit rock bottom.

Peggy/Dissatisfied Customer,

I am the current system developer, and between Brian and I, we have a pretty clear idea of the technical details of how the system works. Also, the FreeToastHost Ambassadors contribute a wealth of expertise and extensive experience using the system. We may be surprised occasionally, and there may be some occasional bugs that have slipped past our attention. I understand that.

However, lets get clear about some things. We are all Toastmasters members and we all work as volunteers on this system (me, too) and contribute some of our spare time. We all could be doing something else, but we choose to do this because each of us has benefitted from the system and we basically believe in keeping it available for Toastmasters clubs and districts.

I am sorry that this is not going as well as you would like. Believe me, I am pretty certain that each of us wishes we could solve your issue for you.

In addition, these support forums are a separate system, on purpose. They are not linked to the website system, so even if there is an issue with the website system, you can hopefully post a support request. We are also not able to fetch any member information from the TI website. (only publically available info such as meeting info)

I do not know why you are having an issue with your gmail account. (I use gmail myself.) We are not computer repair technicians... none of us are. I wish I could tell you how to resolve your gmail issue, but frankly I just do not know, and our focus is on FreeToastHost, not gmail issues.

I have pretty much conclusively shown you that what the system is seeing is an email coming from AOL, not gmail. The system is not changing that email...What I showed you is what was received. I wish I knew why... I do not. However, I am pretty clear it is not a FreeToastHost issue, as much as you might like to try to make it out as one.

As a last ditch attempt to get some fresh insight, I did a google search on sending gmail from a different email address and came up with the gmail "Send mail as" option. (I did not have to do that.) I am wondering if it is involved somehow, since it would only affect sending, not receiving email:

It appears that you are now finally able to send from your gmail account:

SUCCESS (User Email) Thu 2015/07/16 21:54:50 UTC Club:[1614] From:[twogypsies1@gmail.com (Peggy Carr DTM)] To:[treasurer-1614@toastmastersclubs.org>gypsitwo@gmail.com] CC:[] Subject:[Test Email]

It would be nice if you could confirm that, so that we can close out this thread.

Sorry, Steve, but nothing has changed. The email referenced was sent using the Basic Email feature in Membership Management. I have always been able to utilize this feature as well as being able to email the agenda to my club members. My problem has been trying to send group emails to the club members or club officers or to an individual officer by using Club Email addresses. I also cannot send an email to a club member by clicking on the email icon that appears on the agenda.

i talked with the folks who installed the software on my computer and have decided to take the computer into them next week to have them see if there is a glitch in the system that is blocking the emails and rerouting them to AOL.

The situation has not changed but it doesn't sound as though there is anything that can be done from your side. I will proceed with the plan to have my computer checked out as you indicated the problem is not from your side. I appreciate the work you have done.

If I could find any indication that this is a FreeToastHost issue, I would be the first to admit I am in error and apologize. However, I am just not seeing it anywhere.

Also, with all due respect, given that we process over 300,000 emails in given week, if this were something happening on our end, we very likely would have seen other occurrences of it. (but I have not see that)

Lastly, I don't want you to feel like I am just "blowing you off". If you need any assistance related to troubleshooting this that I can provide, I am happy to help.

If you are using outlook to send you email please check that you have changed the outgoing smtp server and user and password.
